Last week, Roseanne Barr told her fans to sign up for her YouTube channel. TV interviews were too stressful & untrustworthy, she tweeted. She was going to film her entire explanation of what happened and why and post it to YouTube(snip)
Barrs YouTube channel has been around for a while, although it has been dormant for months. After these tweets, she revived it with a flurry of videos, including one late Thursday that has gotten some attention. The minute-long video feels behind the scenes, as Barr does a sound check into a mic and sighs, exasperated, as a man off camera attempts to explain the concept behind a video Barr, presumably, is about to film.
Barr is told to imagine herself as the president, caught in a scandal. Imagine in his statement, to keep and save his job, there were jump cuts, multiple outfits
Im trying to talk about Iran, Im trying to talk about Valerie Jarrett, the Iran deal! Barr shouts. The tweet that led to her firing referenced Jarrett, saying if the Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby, it would be the former president Barack Obama adviser, who is black. Referring to black people as monkeys or apes is a long-running, well-known racist trope.
In the video, Barr continues to shout, before looking directly into camera.
I thought Jarrett was white, Barr screams, using a vulgar word for a woman instead of Jarretts name. She repeats the scream, along with a few more obscenities, and then the video ends with Barr taking a long drag on the lit cigarette in her hand. One of the men off camera laughs.

With youtube, everyone can be a “performance artist”. Whether they’re famous - or not. ;>)
CBS 5pm news just showed a clip from Barr’s video - and got a psychologist to comment on her mental state(!) The ‘mental professional’ was wamboozled, he took her performance art seriously, and looked like a fool.
Go, Roseanne.
She didn’t yell. She screeched like someone in a looney bin. I’ve defended this woman many times but she needs to either control herself on occasion or get out of show business.
Gotta figure——she lost out bigtime——over a foolish remark.
She’s trying to walk it back......and not doing a very good job of it.
Hi, Liz.
I have long admired Roseanne and will continue to do so. But if you listen to the tape, she sounds insane as well as vicious towards the poor guy interviewing her. You cannot conduct yourself like that if you want to get back into people’s hearts. She’s got to be bi-polar.
On a separate but related note, did anyone think Valerie Jarrett identified as black prior to the Roseanne comment?
Her Wikipedia page says she was born in Iran and the picture on the page makes her look the same color as the white guy next to her and much lighter than the mulatto 0bama in the same picture. This ain’t no black woman.
I demand a DNA test before I’ll believe she says about her race.
Havent heard it....so maybe I’m offbase.
Normally I dont see her as a great thinker.....but the crap heaped upon her over this probably has made her go ballistic.
See if you can find it. It’s bad.
Good point.
Here’s the link
She’s the same color as Gibbs and Emanuel, for what it’s worth.
But look at her daddy.
According to Wiki, she has already had a DNA test.
I’m no fan of this woman, but I don’t understand all of the confusion about her “race”; what am I missing?
She is obviously of mixed race, but she is of African American descent, born in Iran because her parents were working there. Her father did his medical residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago and was the first African American to do so. Her maternal great grandfather was an architect, and the first AA to be enrolled at MIT.
Yep. I have always assumed she is black or partially black based on her facial features, not her skin color. Also assumed, because Obama seems to hate while people, that he chose her based on her race.
Save yourself some embarrassment.
I have two friends who come from mixed-race families. Half the people in both families would never be assumed to have any African background; but they do.
I think you have that a little mixed up. Val Jar Binks chose Obama to take under her wing or as I like to believe, she was assigned by the Politburo to be his handler.
Michelle Obama requested that her then-fiance; meet her prospective boss, Valerie Jarrett, when considering her first career move;[19] Jarrett became one of her husband's closest advisors.
I agree with Rosanne. The bitch looks white; at least the way the scientific community defines white. Hispanics and Middle Easterners are considered white even if they don’t consider themselves white.
ValJar looks either Middle Eastern or Hispanic in her skin tone; not black. Definitely not black.
She is butt ugly though. Does that count?
One thing I don’t understand is there are lots of white Africans so why do black people call themselves African-American? Why not just African or just American? Oh wait! This is about the race baiters and keeping a victim class going isn’t it ‘cause there’s lots ‘O’ money in race baiting? Just axe Mad Maxine, Sh!t Pile Sharpton, Reggae Jackson, and the Choom gang leader.
Maybe she can be the new host on ABC’s The View and replace Whoopi Goldberg?.....
