Standing guard at the gates of heaven. Rest in peace Sargent Matthews
"All right sweethearts, what are you waiting for, breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the corps. A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal is a banquet. Every paycheck a fortune. Every formation a parade. I LOVE the corps!"

His part was pretty minor, but he was one of my favorite characters in a movie chocked full of favorite characters. Sad to hear of his passing.

Hopefully, there is no gaping hole in his midsection.
RIP, Sgt. Matthews, and condolences to your family and friends. Thanks for the entertainment, you won’t be forgotten.

Very few movies have had such a large group of memorable supporting characters/actors. It is the only movie of the Alien series I can say I truly enjoyed.

It's a rescue mission, you'll love it. There's some juicy colonists' daughters we have to rescue from their virginity.

Lethal Weapon 2, Joe Pesci made the movie.

Now I wonder how the audition for Aliens went. “Hay, how about a signing Sergeant?”

Star Trek II Wrath of Khan !

True, but Alien was an innovative and unexpected commercial success in its monster on the loose terror set in a spaceship with a grimy industrial aesthetic. It also marked the transition of Ridley Scott from TV commercials to movies.
To: Mr. K
You really can’t compare the two. Alien is a haunted house movie. Aliens is an action blockbuster. It’s like trying to compare Halloween with Die Hard, it’s apples and chickens.
