LAS VEGAS - Charges were dropped in court Monday against four dentists who were accused of rape against a woman at a Las Vegas hotel in July, KSNV reported.
Ali Badkoobehi and brothers Poria Edalat, Saman Edalat and Sina Edalat had been charged with sex assault, conspiracy to commit sex assault and first-degree kidnapping, the television station reported. However, prosecutors dropped charges during a hearing that lasted about 30 seconds Monday, the Las Vegas Journal-Review reported.
“After review of the facts of the case, it was clear that the allegations were completely fabricated,” lawyers for the men wrote in a prepared statement before a court appearance. “The evidence confirmed the men’s innocence, and the state has cleared them of all charges.”
None of the dentists appeared at the hearing, the Journal-Review reported.
The unnamed woman alleged that the four men raped her repeatedly in a room on July 28 after she met one of the men at a bar at the Wynn Hotel, KSNV reported.

I’d like to know if there was a rape kit, results of a medical exam, or other physical evidence.
If there is no physical evidence, I would never vote to convict someone accused of rape.
On the other hand, courts are corrupt and I would not be surprised if the case was dismissed in order to not be a public relations disaster for Las Vegas.
How dare they not “believe the survivor’s truth”?
Uhhh - I read this story when it originally occurred and she contacted Wynn security immediately and I’m sure rape kits were used.
While the story seemed outlandish (talking to the one guy then going back to his shared room where they all took turns on her) it didn’t seem completely unbelievable.
Unless it turned out she was a prostitute...
