A motorist in Brooklyn, New York, drove onto a sidewalk this week to apparently get around parked school buses and came within inches of schoolchildren being dropped off, according to a video obtained by a former New York State assemblyman.

Dov Hikand released the video Wednesday and called for authorities to look into the incident.

Looks like a Jewish school too.

So I will put money on a muslim who thought it beneath him to wait or someone from the UN with diplomatic immunity.

That’s reckless driving and a criminal misdemeanor around here.

That was SOP in Argentina back in them 70s. An Argentinian guy I worked with complained loudly about all of his countrymen were crappy drivers...while he himself was driving in the sidewalk.

Driving on the sidewalk is ok as long as you don’t hit anybody. ;)

“Looks like a Jewish school too.”

Maybe the driver thought it was Passover.
(sorry)

The US has turned into the home of people who have no regard for the law and no fear of consequences for breaking the law.

It’s apparent everywhere you look.

The problem?

NEA
MSM/including Hollyweird
DNC

Back-to-back generations of people who can barely read, who are shamefully coddled throughout the school systems, who have a needle in their arm called ‘the entertainment industry’, people who know ONLY popular culture and respect only criminals....etc. - voila!!

Use the bumper, that’s what it’s for.

Travelled to Puerto Rico in the early 2000s for work. Didn't take long to notice most if not all street to sidewalk curb transition was around 2-3 inches. Didn't take long after that to see drivers used the close side of the sidewalk as part of their right hand turn lane at intersections. lol

I find myself behind school buses all the time and I can understand the driver’s frustration. Kids dawdle getting on, mothers engage in long conversations with the driver, and then you just sit there endlessly waiting for everyone to decide to move on. Still, there’s nothing you can do but suck it up and wait.

So they drive on the left side of the street in Borough Park, Brooklyn? I always knew NY was weird.

States are granting drivers licenses to illegals, the banks are writing them loans to buy cars, the feds are giving them cash spending money, and they all have smartphones. So now you have the mental equivalency of chimpanzees and macacques who think they have been reborn in the U.S as Aztecan gods. Add to this toxic mix their hair-trigger tempers. What’s not to like?

Your post jogged a memory from a very long time ago. I was taking Spanish in high school or jr high and the book had a picture of an Argentine cop directing traffic, with the caption, “Police still control traffic at intersections because Argenitine drivers are to0 independent to obey traffic signals”.

Yep, that was the place. They also completely ignored lane markings. A road would be marked for three lanes at a stop light in an intersection and you would usually see six cars abreast waiting for the green light. At least they stopped for the red light.

When I was in JR High in Houston some idiot passed the bus at a stop and the Substitute Driver chased the car down right in the middle of the afternoon run. When the car stopped at a house She blocked the driveway with the bus and got out and chewed the guy up one side and down the other, got his name and license number to turn him in.

Then We went back to route.

I know some nanny state transplant will eventually kill this, but here in rural WV, school buses routinely pull off the side of the road or into a driveway once a few cars have queued up behind them, and then they’ll wave the cars around them so they aren’t forced to wait for the rest of the route.

Haha, memories. I loved how in B.A. and Asuncion they used to put the traffic lights on the near side of the intersection so that the car first in line couldn't see the light. They'd only know to move on a green when the others behind them would honk.

When I'd ask why don't they just put the lights on the far side of the intersection, the reply was, "Becuase then the drivers would stop at the other side, too, right next to the light..."
