An unvaccinated 6-year-old boy from Oregon has racked up more than $800,000 in medical bills after almost dying in the state's first case of pediatric tetanus in 30 years.
The unidentified boy contracted tetanus - a serious infection caused by bacteria entering a wound - through a cut on his forehead while playing outside on a farm in 2017.
It was the first time a child in Oregon had been diagnosed with rare disease in more than 30 years, according to a report on the case by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released Thursday.

>> “This media propaganda is designed to obscure the real issues about forced vaccinations. Too bad many Freepers fall for it.” <<
Absolutely!
Without vaccines, diseases move too slowly to accomplish Agenda 21 (kill off 2/3 of the worlds population)
Vaccines are the avenue to Agenda 21.

$1.5 million dollars for her life care; lost earnings; and pain and suffering for the first year alone. In addition to the first year, the family will receive more than $500,000 per year to pay for Hannah's care. ...
Then, in July 2000, she was vaccinated against nine diseases in one doctor's visit: measles, mumps, rubella, polio, varicella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and Haemophilus influenzae. ...
Afterward, her health declined rapidly. She developed high fevers, stopped eating, didn't respond when spoken to, began showing signs of autism, and began having screaming fits. In 2002, Hannah's parents filed an autism claim in federal vaccine court. Five years later, the government settled the case before trial and had it sealed.
Youre, then, not anti-vaccine.
From Wiki:
“Complications of measles are relatively common, ranging from mild ones such as diarrhea to serious ones such as pneumonia (either direct viral pneumonia or secondary bacterial pneumonia), bronchitis (either direct viral bronchitis or secondary bacterial bronchitis), otitis media,[21] acute brain inflammation[22] (and very rarely subacute sclerosing panencephalitis),[23] and corneal ulceration (leading to corneal scarring).[24] In addition, measles can suppress the immune system for weeks to months, and this can contribute to bacterial superinfections like otitis media and bacterial pneumonia.[25][26][27]
The death rate in the 1920s was around 30% for measles pneumonia.[28] People who are at high risk for complications are infants and children aged less than 5 years[29]; adults aged over 20 years[29]; pregnant women[29]; people with compromised immune systems, such as from leukemia, HIV infection or innate immunodeficiency;[29][30] and those who are malnourished[29] or have vitamin A deficiency.[29][31] Complications are usually more severe in adults who catch the virus.[32] Between 1987 and 2000, the case fatality rate across the United States was 3 measles-attributable deaths per 1000 cases, or 0.3%.[33] In underdeveloped nations with high rates of malnutrition and poor healthcare, fatality rates have been as high as 28%.[33] In immunocompromised persons (e.g., people with AIDS) the fatality rate is approximately 30%.[34]
Even in previously healthy children, measles can cause serious illness requiring hospitalization.[30] One out of every 1,000 measles cases progresses to acute encephalitis, which often results in permanent brain damage.[30] One or two out of every 1,000 children who become infected with measles will die from respiratory and neurological complications”
My neighbor was mentally disabled due to measles infection when he was a young child, and at age 30, he had the mental development and cognitive abilities of a six year old. But at least he didn’t catch autism.
Youre right.
Prior to 1962 smart mothers made sure their kids got measles, in spite of any risks.
Because the risk at 30 was about a 20% death rate, and if you survived you likely had brain damage.
Before 1962 the death rate for measles was ABOUT one in a thousand, with another 1 or 2 having complications.
998 of a thousand having a 4 day fever and spots. That’s it.
That’s not what I said. Read it again.
that’s called “getting old”... enjoy it, it’s better than the alternative
My PCP has them. Got one a few months ago.
Probably ER stocks the trivalent to immunize the herd. Lots of decisions are made that way, like the hep shots for babies. Immunize before they get away rather than when they might need it.
Death is not the only serious complication that can result from measles. Still, that's a significantly higher complication rate than the rate for serious complications from the measles vaccine, which is about 1 person out of every million.
Right you are. At three times the cost.

I’m im OR and this is the first I’ve heard of it.
Meanwhile, flu kills 10s of thousands per year in the US alone. 56,000 in the 2012-2013 season. Over 80,000 in the 2016-2017 season.
Every year.
Yet we don’t have Congressional hearings and moms crazily marching in the streets over the fact somebody didn’t get their flu shot.
Why such hysteria over the MMR?
Because government wants it.
Is that the best you have? From a strident ANTI-Vaccine website?
Why should I believe THAT and not this?:
Is the AAP really just a front to destroy children’s lives?
There are many more links from authoritative journals in the medical and research communities if you care to look and open your eyes.
No matter what you respond, to me the data is overwhelming and most of the vaccines developed are beyond harmful
I am not prone to hyperbole in my professional life but for diligence and well founded conclusions
The truth is out there if you will take the time to look for it, each of us must choose
I have done so
