Sunday night's episode of the cartoon classic, The Simpsons, was dedicated to all things Canadian.
Aptly titled "D'oh Canada," the episode featured everything from Justin Trudeau, maple syrup and even a shout-out to Windsor.
But, not all Canadians were happy about being the butt of this American show's jokes.
One term in particular sent the east coast into a rage-induced spiral on Twitter.
The phrase "stupid Newfie" was chanted several times by the show's characters, with Ralph Wiggum finishing off the chorus by clubbing a stuffed seal to death and kicking its head across the sidewalk.

Join the club, they recently made fun of Upstate NY.
Since Canaduh elected Castro’s son and are not likely to win the Stanley Cup this year, they need to stand down.
“A baby seal walks into a club...”
Wow they really ARE snowflakes.
Well, blame Canada, blame Canada
It seems that everything’s gone wrong
Since Canada came along
Blame Canada, blame Canada
They’re not even a real country anyway.
Canada deserves the mockery. Anyone arguing otherwise needs to go look at the pictures of their leader wearing Muslim clothes, Hindu clothes, and etc.
I used to be such a fan that I remember watching it on a little hand held TV. I was in the North Carolina mountains and the only place I could receive the signal was next ho a large boulder a hundred feet from my place.
I just gradually quit watching and now it has been probably been at least 15 years. Probably should check it out again to see if it has gotten good again.
Simpson ceased to be funny after Phil Hartman died.
I thought the whole point of The Simpsons is to offend as many people as possible and create a barrel of laughs doing it.
I love making self-righteous weenie commie Canadians and their creepy Prime Minister feel bad. How can I see the episode on the internet?
Another great moment in animation:
Years ago I dated a woman who grew up in Nova Scotia and she always used to refer to "Newfies" (meaning people from Newfoundland) and she'd do so in a somewhat dismissive way...a way that suggested that "Newfies" were seen as Canada's "rednecks" or something.
I would have thought the South Park depictions would have bothered them.
There are MANY snowflakes in the Great White North.
Compared to what MANY Canadians say about America, they’ve got a fat lot of nerve complaining about a stupid tv show.

Good lord,I laughed when I read this.
I grew up in a Boston three-decker.
My mother was from Nova Scotia-——the woman downstairs was from Newfoundland——my Mom spoke about our neighbor the way that your old girlfriend spoke about “Newfies”..
.
There’s a movie about Newfies and their ways: The Shipping News.
I’m not Canadian but I get the impression that Newfies are considered more like ‘very strange’ as opposed to just redneck.
