Alexandria says growing cauliflower in community gardens is colonial
Here she is, talking total hogwash => https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=87&v=PUJ6o4tqwyM
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said yesterday that growing cauliflower in community gardens is part of the colonial attitudes that her Green New Deal will stamp out.
The New York Democrat, who introduced the proposal to tackle climate change by radically transforming the economy, posted a series of Instagram videos filmed in her home state talking about community gardens as a core component of her proposal.
What I love too is growing plants that are culturally familiar to the community. Its so important, she said as she filmed a community garden in the Bronx.
So thats really how you do it right. That is such a core component of the Green New Deal is having all of these projects make sense in a cultural context, and its an area that we get the most pushback on because people say, Why do you need to do that? Thats too hard.
But when you really think about it when someone says that its too hard to do a green space that grows Yucca instead of, I dont know, cauliflower or something what youre doing is youre taking a colonial approach to environmentalism, Ocasio-Cortez said.
That is why a lot of communities of color get resistant to certain environmentalist movements because they come with the colonial lens on them.
Yeh....you didn’t have to even tell us who...
A forum I used to post at was Prog dominated, one of the posters had run a community garden in one of those Blue Hive utopias and as he described it it was basically white slaves so the people of color could stand there and demand free veggies.
So she’s proposing the government tell people what vegetables to grow in their own gardens.....
.
Out with the cauliflower, in with the black-eyed peas!
Somebody obviously beat this poor girl near to death with the stupid stick.
In other parts of the [Feb 2019] video, which surfaced late Monday, she talked about her life in Washington, DC, as a new member of Congress, calling it super weird.
Here in DC its like, so weird. Its like everybody is like, a spy. Like, its so bizarre, she said.
Its like you could go out to get a coffee and the person thats, like, sitting at a table in the corner of the restaurant is like, you know, like, she said, as she made typing motions.
Then they go and, like, they text all of their friends that they saw so-and-so at this cafe and its like, triangulation, she continued. And its super weird.

Elections have consequences.
Avote is a terrible thing to waste.
Cauliflower is too white?
Our church has a community / food bank garden. About 70-80% is given to the food bank, the rest taken by volunteers as payment unless used by the church in preparing communal meals.
All the volunteers are white, mostly retirees. Most of the recipients are Hispanic and black. And we live in a barely majority white area.
Have to go to school a long time to get that stupid.
She wouldn’t last 30 seconds in the old time hippie communes. They might have been naive about some things, but they knew how to grow a garden.
Can you even imagine if William F. Buckley were alive and had a discussion about serious issues with AOC on TV over an hour period how AOC would sound? I can’t, either.
Or, I should say like, I mean, like, I don’t think I can, either, you know?
She is right out of the movie “Idiocracy”
I think you grow what matches your local growing season, average temperature, average rainfall, and who’s putting the work in and what do they want. Not sure Yucca will do all that well in NY State.
She couldn’t get crazier. But somehow she manages.
Sick of her. This is the last time I’ll even read an article about this moron.
What she doesn’t know is that a lot of time it costs more to make and grow a garden than your investment in time, energy, soil, water and seed. So maybe that’s why a lot of folk don’t grow one:-)
Yes. Not a vegetable of color.
Think not?
Read the crap Whitey O’Rourke is spewing now.
He’s a lot like her.
If she rambled on about sex with cows, I mean.
