I know, right? I think it’s charming and refreshing!

Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, tops the Billboard Hot 100 chart for an eighth week.

Totally deserving of its success. Lil Nas X is only 19! He reached out to Billy Ray for the track.

Eight weeks at Number 1? NEVER heard of this song. Most songs that reach that mark are memorable. That tells you how bad music is today.

I suffered through the video. Is it supposed to be funny? Entertaining? It was neither.

Country legend? Billy Ray Cyrus? Seriously?

Don’t need to read any more of this silliness...

Sorry that you didn’t enjoy it. I normally listen to older music as well, and more often than not, my go-to genre of choice is classical. But this struck a chord with me. One reason being that it is nice to see a very unlikely pairing collaborate...And I think the film is tastefully done.

Does the video feature a performance by his lesbian stripper daughter?

There was no “reach-out,” artist-to-artist. This particular version was corporate home-office intervention, as some of the masses aren’t properly assimilating the multi-cultural goodness and offering up hosannas in proper praise of their hip-hop overlords.

Suckers.

It’s not an “unlikely pairing.” It’s corporate Nashville (NYC-LA) direction, training the “masses” to consume the “next big thing”, and homogenize (effectively nationalizing) every last drop of what was once “folk” music and culture. I hate to come off as conspiratorial, but it is what it is.

Lil Nas likes Rambo. That’s good enough for me.
