When I was in graduate school, Clovis was the chiseled in stone marker for the first appearance of humans in the Western Hemisphere. You dared not make one step toward an earlier date. Not that I was looking for evidence of humans, I was trying to date glacial moraines, but I knew the rules.

So what were these travelers doing in the parts of America and Mexico they passed through?

They probably didn’t pass through or stay as virgins.

Science and history are never really settled.

The third wave is much more recent but its influence is limited as it occurred 4,200 years ago. Its members settled in the Central Andes...
