President Donald Trump is an exaggerator who knew his policies wouldnt generate the 5% growth he had promised while campaigning, according to Stephen Moore, who served as a campaign advisor to Trump and was a prospective Fed nominee.
In an interview with Mehdi Hasan, columnist at The Intercept, Moore stopped just short of calling the president a liar, but did say Trump hurts himself with falsehoods.
He should stop saying things that are untrue, Moore says in a clip from Al Jazeera English television show that Hasan provided on his Twitter feed.
I think Trump is an exaggerator, and I think it gets him in trouble, Moore later says. Its like he said were going to get 5% growth. We knew we werent going to get 5% growth.

WTH?
Anyone look at the video to see if this is actually Moore saying these things?
At one time the economy was clipping along at 4% then revised down to 3.2% That was quite a feat.
If this is actually Moore saying this, he needs to be fired because the President was counting on the Fed to allow the US economy to be competitive with other nations and the Fed has done the opposite.
Did you think of that Stephen or are you just prone to shooting off your mouth?
Apologies to Stephen if he didn’t actually say these things.
That would have been fine, if it pretty much disqualified him from serving on the Federal Reserve board because in his role on the Trump team he had taken positions on some economic issues that were too easily debunked.
He was no more suited for a seat on the Federal Reserve board then Andrew Napolitano was for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Did China really grow that fast? They have been known to fudge the numbers.
So every coach who says, ‘we’re gonna have a winning season’ is a liar? Oh, gimme a break.
And while we’re at it - where’s all that ‘hope and change’ and was Obama called a liar for that one?
Or a parent who says ‘we’ll have fun on this vacation’... when it rains for two weeks?
People have to grow up and learn the difference between rational hope and lies.
Stephen Moore sounds bum-hurt.
Moore’s a GOPES Government Over People Elite Snob
Steve is absolutely the man
Ive been hearing on the radio for decades and decades
Go Steve go! dont take any shiite from these morons!
Those jobs aret coming back (this is the new normal) - President Obama
“Democrats and many republicans, are making sure that Trumps economy doesnt grow...”
Lou Dobbs last night, had some one on who is involved with the China trade deal. Think his last name is Pillsbury. He said China will not deal because they have a concern that the Prez will be impeached and they will wait till after the 2020 elections. Thanx Nancy and the rest of the Rats.
Steve is another back bench rock chunker. Nothing of any value to contribute.
“Et tu Stephen?”
Exactly what did Moore say that was untrue? Has speaking the truth now become disloyalty?
I remember when 4% growth was average and 5% was considered just good growth.
I remember when 3% growth sucked and put any President in political trouble and 4% was considered just average.
BS. Pollution growth LOWERS the per capita GDP. The world has what 7 billion people in it? Where is the PROSPERITY? LOL.
“Exactly what did Moore say that was untrue? Has speaking the truth now become disloyalty?”
The disloyalty is obvious. Nothing wrong with telling the truth, but it usually doesn’t help much when you puke on your shoes.
Do you think the paltry 2% GDP growth is normal? Were you born yesterday?
It’s not the truth.
...makes employers a bit unsettled when it comes to expansion and permanence to any deregulation that handcuffed them in the first place.
Bingo. The last President we had that did so: Ronald Reagan.
MAGA!
“Its not the truth.”
Probably not.
