JohnnyAK, Anchorage, United States,

My son has battled with eczema since he was 9 months old. He got pneumonia when he was 4 and the only thing he would eat for several days was yogurt His eczema completely vanished during that time for the first and only time in his life.

I have been doing this often, high fat plain fatty yogurt or kefir. Great with mixed berries

I buy cheap store brand yogurt for $2/qt and make smoothies with it. I wish I could find whole milk yogurt at the store, but they don’t seem to have it.

I tried Chobani Greek yogurt and didn’t like it at all. Too thick, with a weird grain-like texture.

Maybe those eating yogurt don’t smoke?

Anyone found a link to the actual research?

I have not.

Another big thing in fighting cancer are anti-parasitic drugs such as a dog de-wormer, Panacur C. It kills the gut parasites that impede the gut biome, which enhances the body’s ability to reject cancer. Yes, many people take it.

The yogurt then has free reign to grow.

Been taking a probiotic for years. The type that makes it past the stomach (important).

The trouble with yogurt is the all the sugar. My probiotic has ZERO sugar.

I really hate most yogurt, but I have to admit that weight loss and blood sugar goes better when I eat it, so I have bought full-fat yogurt recently, add my own vanilla and stevia, and eat it with fruit, nuts and some kind of cereal, crumbled cookies or whatever might be good as a junk carb “garnish” on top. Yum!

I asked my doctor, a real doctor with an MD, if there were any nutritional supplements or vitamins that would reduce my risk of cancer. He said “there is nothing proven” and if there were he would prescribe it.

That’s a lot of plastic to consume.

Can paper yogurt cups be used instead?

this is an excellent yogurt, and it’s dairy-free because it’s made from goat milk:

https://redwoodhill.com/products/traditional-plain-yogurt/

and here’s an excellent probiotic:

https://www.customprobiotics.com/custom-probiotics-11-strain.htm

and an inexpensive pre-biotic, to feed lower gut bacteria:

https://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-ultra-inulin-powder-8-oz-227-grams-pwdr

i pretty much have to take this stuff regularly since a course of levaquin for a kidney infection totally nuked my gut biome ...

I’m smoking 2 packs of yogurt a day and feel just awful.

Should I be vaping yogurt instead?

I believe that it’s very healthy, and I wish I could eat yogurt, but almost the thought of it triggers my gag reflex. When DH eats it I have to leave the room because of the smell. There are health things I have sometimes that I know would be helped by yogurt, but I just can’t do it. Is there a substitute? Is acidophilus as good?

Whole milk yogurt isn’t easy to find, but once I found a store that carried it, I found it tasted much better than the 2% and the 0% fat varieties. I don’t add anything to it.

Live culture yogurt and probiotics are going to be the big medical breakthrough of our generation.

On thing of interest I picked up at a conference is that in France they are supplementing the nutritional intake of premies with probiotics. These babies are leaving the neonatal ICUs with much better pulmonary function.

In traditional Chinese medicine, internal organs are paired - one yin (relatively solid) to one yang (relatively hollow), for each of the five elements.

For the metal element, the lungs are considered paired to large intestine. It doesn’t seem very intuitive (like the liver and gall bladder pair, or kidney and bladder), but over time, I have seen many correlations like this probiotic/lung cancer link, that seem to show a relationship in practice.
