I had the first chance to hear Romo at length over the weekend.

Verdict: He sucks.

I don’t think Romo is that good and that is throwing money at the problem.

I hope Romo has the stones to turn down the Extreme Socialist Programming Network.

I think Peyton Manning would actually be pretty good in that role, I’m surprised he hasn’t gotten a gig yet.

the offer would be between $10 million and $14 million annually

I don't understand these enormous and outrageous salaries these done nothing TV personalities receive.

Example, George Stephanopolous's salary is approx. $17 million a year.........

$17 million !

He makes more in one month than I ever made in my entire lifetime......and I could proudly state that I was more productive in my jobs to my employer than he ever was.

I like Tony. He's a great announcer.

Monday Night Football really needs to be fixed. How can you take a guy seriously whose nickname is "booger"?

That’s your opinion. I think he’s fun and informative, and all my friends who hated him as a player feel the same. He’s very popular which is obvious by the high asking price.

Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported...
Obviously that's Mike McCarthy in thin disguise, trying to entice Romo back to the Cowboys. /jk

Tony is excellent at analyzing the plays. He know the game inside and out. What bugs me is his raspy voice—too many years screaming out signals?

He sucks.

He suck better than some of the others who really suck bad.

I liked Robert Smith of the vikings and his commentary.

Very well spoken and very knowledgeable

Romo is pretty darn good I must say. My Dish package however doesn’t include ESPN and I’m not paying extra for it. Ciest la vie.

Growing up a Redskin fan, never liked the Cowboys and though he did show some grit playing hurt, I always (somewhat) respectfully rooted against Tony Romo. But I was pleasantly surprised with his work in the booth. He does still have a boyish enthusiasm, he is entertaining, good personality and humble with a little self-deprecatinon thrown in for good measure, and he does know football and the modern day mechanics of the game. A whole lot better than Witten for sure. Aikman knows his stuff as well but he’s a dud as far as voice and personality goes.

With that said, last night, Romo wasn’t at his best and as the game changed dramatically, was going a little overboard jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon.

He’s excellent. His enthusiasm for the game is infectious and he makes the strategy behind the play calls come to life. He entertains and instructs...

It's not meant to help ESPN, it's meant to hurt CBS ad rates, and thusly hurt Viacom/CBS for 2022 when the NFL renewal comes up.

I wouldn't work for Disney's network branch for 10x10 that money. Phony woke-ass bullshit with 4 or 5 different people acting like they are 'in charge'.

Also pretty sure Nantz makes $7M, but he pulls NCAAM and golf duty - so essential to the Masters' experience - so it would be a nothingburger for CBS to give him $10M and give Tony $10M.

My husband thinks he’s really good. I like his voice. Reminds me of Boomer’s.

Romo was aweful during the Patriots game.

It was miserable to listen to him blather on about how this could be Bray’s last game, end of a dynasty, and on, and on.

Romo the homo sucks as an announcer or “color” commentator.
