Wow!! I remember this story. Sounded like a tragic accident. I have to read more on this.
His last name is my middle name.
But I’m not crazy like him!
no comments on that last line please.

According to the Comey/Cankles precedent, grandpa didn’t INTEND to drop her, therefore Royal Caribbean is at fault.

This is horrible. Was alcohol involved?

It’s impossible for any of us to know for sure with information we have.
This makes it seem like he was playing some sick Michael Jackson game, dangling her from a window before she was dropped.
But if what he’s saying is true he could have been holding on to her for dear life for thirty seconds before he lost his grip.
I don’t know.

Tragic. I wonder if he was also lying to the child’s parents about what he actually did?

Yes, a 1-year old is gonna have fun. Yes, the adults are going to eat it up.
But in the end, she won’t remember any of it as she ages.
So kids tend to be brought along for the enjoyment of ... adults.
Sad ending.

Grandpa was tired of the kid and hove her out the window.
Parents, don’t pawn off your kids on people who lack patience.
And why take a cruise with toddlers?
To: yesthatjallen
I'm beginning to think Grandpa is a real piece of work. First, I don't see how he could not know the window was open, and I think he was careless and stupid. Then these lies he's come up with to escape repercussions... Well, it doesn't surprise me, and I am sure he's pretty darn sorry he killed his grand daughter.
But now, suing them? That takes an incredible amount of nerve, and it does look like from the photos that he was leaning out of it earlier and knew it was open.

It is clear that Royal Caribbeans tactic is to blame Chloes grandfather rather than to accept that Royal Caribbean did not implement industry standards for toddler safety aboard its ships, which ultimately led to Chloes tragic death, he said. The toddler was perfectly safe until her grandfather held her out of the open window and dropped her to her death.

I remember this story too. Now it seems the grandfather was just a jerk and like a democrat wants to blame everyone but himself. I’d be willing to bet Trump is not his president.

Not surprising. I’ve been on enough cruise ships to know that the scenario the family described sounded highly unlikely.

Oh my. Even sadder story than I thought upon first hearing of it.

That is news. I felt bad for the man, but if there is proof that he hung the kid out the window...he needs to go to prison.

Royal Carribean has money, mom and grandpa had a couple million reasons.
Not even possible as an accident because an adult knows thats a possibility.
I saw the same thing this summer but I was on the aerial tram for Ober Gatlinburg. A couple hanging their squirming kids out the front window seeming to wait for the highest possible fall. Fortunately the conductor was paying attention and made them pull them and they did because they knew we were all then watching.
