I cannot go into details because I don't want to harm the innocent parties involved, but here is the basic true story:
My workplace is exceedingly liberal. A few conservatives, but we're outnumbered. I don't hide my views, but I also don't get in fights with others. Honestly.
Seven or eight months ago, maybe longer, I was told my comments offended people and could get me fired. I asked what the specific comments were, and no one could tell me. The response was basically "We all have heard you say things..."
A few days into the new year, I was again read the riot act, told that if I offend anyone else I will lose my job. One of the bosses (there were two) told me not to even talk about the weather or sports. Only work related words should be coming out of my mouth.
I told them I have been very careful about using any language that could be construed as offensive. I asked again for what exactly was my offense. No one could give me a quote.
So, I am doing my best to watch out. I am a good employee and have been that a long time.
What I think I'll do this week is wear RED (not a hat of course LOL) during my work hours. The red will be in solidarity with MAGA. I will do my best to remain quiet.
I also think God may be teaching ME about humility. I need to honor my supervisor even when I think they're putting unfairness upon me. Such a posture would show trust that my Creator is able to take care of my situation. I wouldn't be relying on my own intellect or value, but on HIM.

Tell your boss that THEIR comments offend you-
[[The response was basically “We all have heard you say things...” ]]
And your response to them is “So what? I’ve sat here and listened to your offensive nonsense over and over- What gives you the right to arbitrate what is offensive and what isn’t? You offend me!”
You will have to move on. If they’ve already been overt, then the knives have already been sharpened. Get that resume fixed up. Sorry to be a doom and gloomer ... but I’ve been there and done that.
You need to find another place to work, fast.
If you have family to feed then be careful what you say around liberals in the workplace
The workplace is FOR WORK. It used to be a golden rule- you never discussed religion or politics at work.
It is not your business.
You are an employee.
STFU at work.
[[One of the bosses (there were two) told me not to even talk about the weather or sports. Only work related words should be coming out of my mouth.]]
Ask that idiot “So if someone starts talking to me about ANYTHING that isn’t work related I can report them and you will discipline them, right?”
Sounds to me like you have a Hell of a discrimination lawsuit.
Get a lawyer BEFORE you get fired.
You might not have to work again after they fire you and they settle.
I will keep you in my prayers, FRiend.
I didn’t mean ‘idiot’ abotu your boss- i meant dictator-
HR departments are pretty weak against a good defense.
Work related lawsuit settlements are very small. You only hear about the very rare exceptions. Normal amount for a non minority lawsuit (even with extreme violations) is around 30 to 40k at most. Also, been there and done that. and my situation was outrageous.
The Bible does say we are to obey those in authority, whether they be a boss or a government.
That having been said, I’d seriously consider getting another job. You’ve been explicitly notified that they are gunning for you.
I think your were told to stifle because all your friends at your work place are about to be humiliated. My suggestion is not to let them read into in by you wearing red. Instead, wait for him to be acquitted, then the next day bring in smiley face cookies......but instead of yellow, make them orange.
This isn’t really a biblical issue. Dress. Dress normal and work. Look for another job.
Employees don’t have a Constitutional right to free speech or freedom of expression ‘at work’... The Constitution’s right to free speech only applies when ‘the government’ is trying to restrict it. ... So ‘employers are generally free to restrict employee speech’.. at least while they are at work.
I’d say save it for “Happy Hour”.....;)
Get ready for an announcement of a newly established dress code where you work. No RED!
Prayers for your peace of mind.
You missed my point to the OP.
And it absolutely *is* a biblical issue.
You could wear one of these.
;-)
But, seriously, I’ll keep you in prayer.
