Yep. So, one of the following must be true:

Either (1) the officer really did maliciously sic her dog on a man standing there peacefully with his hands up,

or (2) the other officers testified against her to save themselves.

Whatever the case, there was more to the story than what we read in the article at the top. IMHO, though, 10 years sounds too long.

The person I was responding to asked why cops simply don’t shoot fleeing suspects.

Bullets are considered lethal force last I checked.

Do me a favor and convince me that 10 years in prison for simply following her job and sending her K-9 after a fleeing subject, who is still alive, is comparable to a four year prison sentence given to one Cruz Alejandro Martinez, a 19 year old hispanic who was high on drugs and alcohol and ran a red light in La Quinta CA back on 10/28/2001, hitting the vehicle being driven by my brother, killing him.

Go ahead asshole, convince me that the officer's crime was worse than Cruz Alejando Martinez's.......

Do me a favor, find the kid for me, his last known address was 914595 7th St., Mecca CA 92254 and the property was registered to Vicente Aquino and Yolanda Villanueva........

You find that kid for me and I will forgive you for your arrogant ignorance and stupidity.........

She used poor judgement in going to work for a filthy east coast democrat shithole but I’m totally cool with the dog thing.

You’re okay with using vicious animal tonattack flow human being.

Shall we then disband all K-9 units? That's WHY police have dogs, as a less-lethal way to catch a fleeing perp.

It should never have been a Federal case. DoJ was after a cop, any cop.

Twenty five years ago was during the Clinton years.

The prosecutor and judge in this case should be in prison for malicious prosecution.

Bunch of idiots on the court. Much of our legal system is corrupted by incompetence and lying by judges.

More information: https://www.aol.com/2012/02/14/police-officer-convicted-of-police-brutality-free-after-eight-an/

"In the early 1990s, Mohr became the first female police officer in the K-9 unit of the Prince George's County Police Department in Maryland. "

Early 1990s? That means Bill Clinton's lying sh*tbag Prosecutors did this. They were looking for any examples they could find of minority abuse, and when they couldn't find them, they just made them up like this one.

All this sh*t is the aftermath of that Rodney King bullsh*t.

They didn't care about the truth. They cared about putting on a good political show.

Clinton is human garbage.

White cop. Black perps. The answer is obvious.

Sounds like a BS charge. I’d be curious to see just who appointed the US Attorney who ordered the prosecution.

It was Bill Clinton's sh*tbag people. That's all we need to know. This was a political prosecution to make Clinton look sensitive to minority accusations of police wrong doing. This is part of the aftermath of the Rodney King crapfest.

When the Federal prosecution staff informs you that they can cost you everything you have, including your freedom, you will suddenly decide to say anything they want you to say.

Why didn't the police stand up for her?

The police have supported police officers on far more egregious actions.

How could her department let this happen to her?

This happened during Clinton’s term, so I automatically regard the Federal Prosecutors in this case as liars.

The police did stand up for her. She was acquitted 11-1. Then, just before the statue of limitations was up, the DOJ went after them. Janet Reno’s DOJ. The perps were illegals.

Because Bill Clinton's prosecutors would have eaten them and they knew it. They were afraid.

I happen to know a law enforcement officer that was convicted of something similar during this reign of terror. He was accused of interfering with an investigation when he told another officer "Don't volunteer anything. Just answer the questions they ask." The prosecutors said that this advice constituted interfering with an investigation, sort of like the trumped up bullsh*t against Michael Flynn and Roger Stone.

He said that the Prosecutors told him that they had bigger pockets than he had, and they would run him into bankruptcy defending himself. He would lose his house, his income, and everything he owned, and his family would be out on the street because they would keep filing charges against him until he was broke.

He said rather than have his family lose their home, he decided to take a plea deal, and he spent some years in Federal Prison.

He said they were just looking for convictions for anything they could get so long as they where white. He said the guy that really committed the offense which they were investigating (beating up a Hispanic prisoner in their custody) was his boss, who was black.

They told him that prosecuting the black guy was no good, because it wouldn't send the message that Clinton wanted sent, so they weren't going to do anything to the Supervisor.

The dog was not “vicious.” It was trained. She told it to grab and hold. It did that. And that hardly constitutes “lethal” focre.

From that article:
“The officer who originally called for assistance, Sgt. Dennis Bonn, claims that the two men cooperated fully, climbing down from the roof with their hands in the air, and were peacefully standing there when the dog was released.”

*************************************************************

If Officer Bond’s statement is true, then Mohr deserved a conviction and a couple years probated NOT 10 years. Remember, the guy the dog attacked was not seriously hurt either.
