Still got double vision, so if I die from coronavirus, I won’t need to worry about that any more.

I agree.

The ONLY way this is going to be estimated is to look at year over year death rates and causes. If there is a 2% “bump” in deaths over the statistical norm for the time period—there is your number.

With something like this, it is impossible to “count” how many are sick. What most people are using is the hospitalization rate. If you did that with the normal flu (deaths/hospitalization) the numbers would cause a HUGE panic. Yet we deal with it every year.

Finally, in places without good healthcare systems or general systems (China, Iran, Africa...) you will never even know how many people died at home without being tested.

I agree generally with all you wrote there. I am surprised it hasn’t hit as hard in the south where living conditions aren’t as sanitary etc. But, more small villages and less urban areas in that direction might have something to do with it.

I know old people in my dad’s village who have never been 20 miles from home.

We’d better get married quick so I can inherit your vast wealth.

Well, at least I could liquidate your vast porn collection for cash. ;)

Still, I’m gonna miss you! :)

I’ll take the over/under date of May 10th.

Are you wearing Hillary glasses? (Remember those things she wore because of “vertigo.”)

Well, we are glad you are still here—awaiting your corona-demise. We’ll all go down with that ship.

“National security adviser Robert O’Brien claimed Wednesday that an initial cover-up of the coronavirus in China “cost the world community two months”

Bullshit.

The US government has been consulting with the China CDC since at least late Dec 2019. Our CDC has known the seriousness of this virus for months.

And they did nothing to prepare. OUR government squandered two months. And now they are looking to shift blame.

Because they are just now beginning to realize the backlash will be severe.

The only way I would go to two clubs these days is if I was delivering something in the afternoon.

“And they did nothing to prepare.”

I seem to remember Trump stopping flights from China some time back and the media saying he was overreacting.

My first thought would be a different strain, but at this point we don’t know for sure.

I dig. Everyone has to handle this in the way that lowers their own stress. That’s just common sense.

Stress increases our chance of death from every possible killer out there, including even things like driving, etc.

Act rationally and as you said in your opening, be calm.

The first half of the book is fantastic.

The second half is a “trudge.” But overall, its on my list for a re-read every year or two.

In essence, he says, You can give up, but if God isn’t buying it—get your act together and live. It makes living a lot better. (I am paraphrasing. He is a lot better at it than I.)

Right now I’m lifting weights between comments. It strengthens the immune system, among other things.

But I walk about six miles a day...most folks don’t do that. The early spring flowers are coming up. It is very relaxing to see the world continues to spin.
