I got excluded from entering the Infusion Center with my wife. Well, not just me...everyone.

I feel like I dropped her off at a day camp she did not want to attend....

So..lets get on with today's chat.

On March 1 the first#covid patient was admitted to our hospital, 10 days later there are 12 confirmed patients and 5 in ICU. Besides the severe ARDS cases there also some with atypical presentaions Never seen anything that comes close to this and we are only just begun.

Coronavirus: Five Iranian IRGC members dead

Five members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have died from coronavirus, IRGC spokesman Ramezan Sharif said on Wednesday.

The five IRGC members and a number of Basij members have been “martyred” in the “fight against coronavirus,” the semi-official Tasnim news agency cited Sharif as saying. The Basij is a paramilitary arm of the IRGC.

Over 100,000 members of the IRGC and the Basij have been deployed to help contain the coronavirus outbreak in Iran, said Sharif.

At least 13 Iranian regime figures have died from coronavirus and 11 others were infected since the beginning of the outbreak in the Islamic Republic.

Bring Out Your Dead

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

Some of cases are indeed outside of what expected. In addition to ARDS, have seen “crazy paving” pattern on CT, lobar pneumonia, and diarrhea as presenting complaint (with fever and respiratory symptoms though)

Where I live my wife and I have noticed a distinct change in attitudes.

People have gone from worried observation to joking about it. Wife says people are better about cleaning the machines at her gym though, as they make jokes.

I went to two nightclubs last night, talked to a lot of people. CV wasn’t mentioned once.

In Italy the current death rate is running at 6.6%.
But Italy has a higher proportion of older people.
