(paraphrasing) Ioannidis re the unusual media focus on COVID-19 (SARS 2.0). the fatalities would possibly have been lost in the bin of influenza numbers, provided US fatalities end up being 10,000 or even less. acknowledges the possibility it could end up being more. you have media following every death, one by one. imagine if we did that with influenza cases every year. it would be horrible. the panic component & the over-emphasis of media attention is probably making things worse. don’t panic. there’s a very high chance we are exaggerating...
I think we really have a pandemic of news stories and news clips and anecdotes about COVID-19. I don’t want to diminish its importance, but we need to get solid evidence, at a minimum...

The panic is absurd whether I catch it or not. My experience is totally irrelevant to the broader picture.
This whole thing is getting “out of hand.”
Was the father given hydroxychloroquine, or was the doctor involved one of the ones saying it doesn’t work and therefore doesn’t try it.

That’s why they leave them out of the article. They hope people who have see the headline won’t actually read the article and look at the pictures.
Why did they take him off life support?
Seems like a number of people have recovered.
Very sad.
But you could tell this exact same story about seasonal influenza - which has killed 10X as many people (24,000) as COVID-19.
you can wake up at anytime 24 hours and one of a handful of miserable f**** on this board will be printing something incredibly depressing :-) 6 people can get it tomorrow and one could die and those stories would go around the clock 24 hours :-)
What an embarrassing bunch of generations we have become.
So many riddled with fear like little girls in a dark room watching a scary movie.
I know it doesn’t matter to these wimps anyway but I’ll never think the same about a number of people here.
And that’s a shame.
It kills me to think that they vote the way I do.
