Spellcheck has let you down. There is no such thing as Marshal Law

Marshall law is what we normally have (as in Marshall Dillon)

it is easily confused via spell auto correct with:

Martial law is more strict, meaning rule by the military.

Also easily confused, via spell auto correct with something stricter still:

Marital Law, meaning rule by one’s wife
