I left a forwarding address with the Post Office, but I am still concerned.
“Move back?”
LOL
Six weeks minimum until that is processed. Better to wait for IRS to put up method online, which they say will appear in a few days.
“I prefer paying by money order and did so many times. Why would I give Irs access to my bsnk account?”
Money order? You don’t have a checking account?
I feel like I am in that Twilight Zone episode where the plane goes back in time and the passengers spot a dinosaur.
The Post Office forwarding should take care of it. That’s how you get your other bills right?
QUESTION: I had a replacement Social Security card sent to my new address (9 months here). Will that new address be absorbed by the IRS also?
If the IRS doesn’t have your bank account info for direct deposit, IRS.gov will have a site up soon to enter your banking info according to Brian Brenberg of King’s College.
If you have the same bank account you may be OK. The IRS is going to try direct deposit first.
File a IRS change of address form 8822.
keep checking irs.gov. i believe there will be a way to update your info there before $ goes out.

I owed the IRS money and opted for the IRS to take the funds from my account so even though I wasn’t owed a refund, the IRS still has my banking information. Many find that’s the cheapest and easiest way to pay what you owe.
The money goes into your bank account not to your house.
I just write them a check. Those things still work...for the time being.
You are in the boat I was in I OWED every year, retired now but having been a business owner I HATED those quarterly filings every quarter seemed like I had just done it yesterday!!!
You know what will happen if someone else gets the check they will tell him to file form eat s**t.
You'll feel better knowing it won't be wasted...
