Here's an example of a restaurant adapting...
me, from driving around town.

The Ole Times Buffet in my hometown of Warner Robins, Georgia(home of Jake Fromm) is converting to cafeteria style.
Had a sign out front... Opening May 27th, cafeteria style.
Smart to adapt. Even smarter if they stay all you can eat.
Wonder if the Chinese Buffets will also do the same.

Longhorn's and Olive Garden are the big restaurants that opened today.
Also many many small businesses are opened... including barber shops. Traffic's getting back to normal.
Kohl's and the mall still closed.

So they give you a tray of food?

Our mayor had a good idea for restaurants in his daily briefing today. To facilitate social distancing do reservations only. Then the restaurant could control it.

May 27?
I thought your governor was going to open up sooner than that?
Gov. Kemp sure took a rash of shizzit from Pres. Trump for his intentions to open early.

I figure the POTUS had to play it that way. If it goes bad in Ga. and he condoned the early opening the lefty media has ammo in an election year.

Maybe they will serve you whatever you ask for.
I like this idea. Better than kids, slobs and who know who handling all the utensils.

Sounds like you go down a line and servers put what you want on your plate. Like any other cafeteria I guess.

I guess it was Monday April 27th. Drove by it on the fly...
and it is going to take some re-modeling.
Like I said, Longhorn’s and Olive Garden are the big chains that opened. Also Margarita’s Mexican grill. They have 2 locations in town...
and it’s probably the first restaurant I will hit. I’m craving a draft beer something fierce.
Cheddar’s and Outback did not open today.

Yes. I always did stay away from the brownies because the tongs sat right on top of them. GROSS

That’s not exactly true. Trump said that Kemp could do whatever he wanted to for GA, but that early opening of spas, barbershops and tattoo parlors wasn’t following the Task Force’s guidance for a staged reopening, which is what Trump would prefer doing. The fact that Kemp is following through means that Trump is taking the hands off approach that the citizens of GA largely wanted.

One of the reasons so many Morrison’s cafeterias went out of business is because the buffets just killed them.
It would be extremely smart for Ole Times to stay all you can eat. Don’t see why they wouldn’t.

Yes. Plus the fact that people adapt. Not everyone needs to eat from 12:00 to 1:00 and from 6:00 to 7:00. Just pick the odd hours when things are slow.

Put a pretty bow on that crap sandwich all you want to. But Trump kicked Kemp in the butt not once, but twice.
President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he disagrees "strongly" with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp's decision to reopen some businesses in his state beginning this week. "I told the governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, that I disagree strongly with his decision to open certain facilities which are in violation of the Phase 1 guidelines for the incredible people of Georgia," Trump said, referring to preliminary guidance the White House issued on reopening the country in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
President Trump on Thursday ripped Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp for his plan to reopen many of his state’s businesses on Friday, declaring, “I am not happy about Brian Kemp.” “I want the states to open more than he does. But I do not like at this early stage. I wasn’t happy with it, or with Brian Kemp,” Trump said of the Republican governor at the daily briefing of the Coronavirus Task Force at the White House. The president initially supported Kemp’s move, but lashed out at him at Wednesday’s briefing over his reopening of such businesses as hair salons and...

Can you explain what “cafeteria” style means? You slide a tray of food? Why would that be different than buffet style? Is it because you are served instead of serving yourself?
