Here's an example of a restaurant adapting...
me, from driving around town.

The Ole Times Buffet in my hometown of Warner Robins, Georgia(home of Jake Fromm) is converting to cafeteria style.

Had a sign out front... Opening May 27th, cafeteria style.

Smart to adapt. Even smarter if they stay all you can eat.

Wonder if the Chinese Buffets will also do the same.

Maybe they will serve you whatever you ask for.

I like this idea. Better than kids, slobs and who know who handling all the utensils.

Maybe Golden Corral and Hometown Buffet will do the same...

No offense but buffets are gross cheap pig trough food. People with no hygiene touching everything. Slop for food. All you can crap for 6 dollars. No thanks. My 70+ parents love them. Then again every 2 weeks they have some stomach bug. Go figure.

Restaurant in general are bad for you. The people in the kitchen are rough. I worked for several years in them. Most of the people in them, I would not have them take my trash out and certainly never cook, serve me food.

Just my observations. Sometimes the higher end owes, with owner operators, do good, but chains - it’s pretty tough to get quality meal for under 20-30 dollars irregardless.

Amen.

Self serve buffets and fast food restaurants are just gross.

i thought the new GA rules ban buffets ?

It's not a buffet, it's a cafeteria like S&S*. Customers select the items, and staff handles the food to the tray.

Customers don't poke and prod it with shared tongs and scoops.

* if I recall correctly. I sure miss Shimmer1!

Our new regimen when shopping for ANYTHING:

If it's made, assembled, touched in China: Don't Buy it!

It’s like Picadilly. That’s a popular cafeteria in my parts.

You walk down the line and point to what you want, they put it on a plate for you and hand it to you. When you get to the end of the line there’s a register that totes up what you got, you pay and find a seat or a to-go box.
