With cries of "reopen Michigan," two dozen people gathered outside of the Calhoun County Building in Marshall and marched toward the Brooks Memorial Fountain to protest Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's stay-at-home order on Friday.
Many carried "Don't tread on me" flags, American flags and signs with slogans such as "liberty is essential," and "Mayday is payday."
Some protesters wore "Make America Great Again" hats or "Trump 2020" hats in support of the president.
No one wore a cloth mask, and social distancing, while encouraged, was generally lax.
The protest was one of ten "Freedom Friday" events taking place around the state and was organized by Michigan United for Liberty, the same group that organized a protest that brought thousands to Lansing earlier this month.
"My main concern is loss of liberty," said Battle Creek resident Hal Longman, who was protesting the stay-at-home order. "Whitmer has overstepped her bounds."

That's right. Those folks in Marshall knew to round up their American flags well ahead of the big rush.

It's the simple meaning because "Your surprise is waiting."
I grew up there. That fountain was the turn around point of the strip we used to cruise.
Around where I live I am wondering if there is going to be long term damage to standard retail to the benefit of Amazon. Will people get use to using Amazon in place of brick and mortar retail and just stay with Amazon?
