How true. Someone needs to inherit that money and property! Better now than later!

Of the four main meat processors, one is owned by the Chinese, one is owned by two Brazilian Billionaires, one is Tyson which were big Clinton suckups and the fourth I don't know about. We need to break that up and get real Americans running smaller meat processing centers. Diversity and dilution will make the industry more resilient.

It’s crazy-making. I get people being upset with their businesses being shuttered, but they act like it’s permanent and it’s only temporary. I even get people not wanting to be locked down for a long period of time. I think those sorts of things should happen wherever breakouts occur, not everywhere simultaneously. You just have to know if you go statewide with lockdown, you will have cases in the entire state, and you hope the rural hospitals can handle it.

What I simply cannot grasp is the pushback on masks. It is the most unbelievably selfish thing. My husband has to stay open as an essential business. He would LOVE to stay home, but cannot. His age puts him in the hospitalization risk pool. If he brings it home, we have 3 high risk people here.

His employees are the same, they would like to stay home but they choose to put themselves out there. He has been very blessed that none of his employees have gotten sick, but 90% of his customers wear masks. Many are donating masks to his employees. It’s courtesy. If two people are face to face, and only one wears a mask, it protects them partially. If they both wear masks, it protects both by a great deal more.

Either there are a lot of really selfish people on FR who don’t give a rat’s a** about others, or they are trolls. Open business, lift lockdown, but for crying out loud, a MASK? Even a freaking bandana offers some protection to the other person.

Anyway, on a personal note, I have been expanding my coop and nearly destroyed my wrist stapling chicken wire. Hubby bought me a battery operated stapler for Mother’s Day!! I cannot tell you how much easier that has made my life! Lol!

I particularly liked the poster who wants to flick boogers on mask wearers.

My at risk hubby wears an (expired) N95 mask when he goes to get grocery pickup. Anyone flicks a booger at him will get ventilated.

Then again, these are probably the e. coli spreaders because I doubt they wash their hands when they visit the restroom.

Thank you for that post. I am appalled by the response of some to what is widespread tragedy here in NY. When they react by spewing venom about NY it brings tears to my eyes. What website is this anyway? I thought I was on Free Republic.

It isn't the outdoor temperature that matters for "killing" the virus. It's getting people outside in the sun to get vitamin D levels up so they don't get severely sick from the exposure. Pretty much the same mechanism that shuts down flu. I think it is going to take elevate D and exposure with minor consequences to get the "herd" immunity desired. As with most Corona viruses, it won't be a lasting immunity. Hopefully, those with antibody don't suffer the observed ADE cytokine storms on future exposure.

New data suggests otherwise. This disease causes blood clotting. That is why the young get frostbite like toes. What other damage will the clotting cause long term ?

Because they WANT to believe it’s a hoax, so they can do whatever they WANT to do.

It’s sin, of a kind, which is basically doing whatever you want to do. Easy to confuse it with libertarianism of the political kind.

You realize that even when things ‘open back up’, there will still be a dearth of shoppers?

The layoffs and furloughs leave lots of unemployed with little disposable income. It takes income to turn demand into purchases.

I’m certainly not getting the Bill Gates “666” Vaccine

I'm not sure Bill Gates has a vaccine coming out. He is supporting and funding (through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) the "COVID-19 Consortium" that includes about a dozen "big pharma" players, including heavyweights like J&J, Novartis, Pfizer, Merck, Lilly and others, that are sharing research and data on vaccines, treatments and drugs. Several of these consortium members have vaccine candidates in stage 1 and stage 2 trials. Then there are several independent labs and universities working on a vaccine, some of them also probably funded by Gates. Which one is the "Gates Vaccine"? Just the J&J one, since they are more closely tied to him, or pretty much any vaccine from "big pharma"? I suspect there will be at least 3 or 4 vaccines, and a dozen or more companies manufacturing them, so you might have a choice.

Covid19 is mostly spread indoors so outside temps are irrelavent. And sunlight kills it within minutes.

By the time you realize you’ve got it,

This is the crucial phrase. The virus didn't need to be weaponized, as some are saying. It already was a weapon. It was designed to be a weapon.

Saying it was "weaponized" is like saying rocks have to be hardened, or arrows need to be made sharp. It wasn't a gun just waiting for the ammo. It was the loaded gun.

So many ways this bastard sneaks up on a person or on a civilization. All built-in. The uneducated on this subject have not bothered to read up or can't understand the concept of biological weapon design. It's tailored to the culture, not just the human cells.

Their very "freedom" ranting was foreseen by the monsters who designed this.

It’s a cycle.

Hubby is at risk. We will be forgoing our monthly sonic run until we know more about long term side effects and treatments for this virus. The Route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper guilty treat isn’t worth it.

I feel for the people who work at sonic, this is hardly their fault either.

The only winners will be governments who will slash spending for seniors like nobody’s business. Seniors will be dead.

For the 23rd April projection, had an addition routine which took into account case #s. While cleaning up the entire algorithm, I messed it up and because I was in a hurry at the time, I ended up just going with just a simple growth curve mod based on the DFI delta. That it's more accurate, demonstrates the importance of including the case # index as well - so it needs that third factor for much better accuracy. Certainly for the two week period.

Thanks for noticing and bringing attention to that. On a separate issue, I've noticed an uptick in case #s over the last several days - that's not good - especially with states opening up their economies.

I think, besides our culture, America must be facing a different strain, or some other factor much of the world hasn't experienced. Exactly how or why this is, I'm not too sure of. Numbers of dead alone indicate we here in the US have it worse than other countries for unknown reasons.

Now case index is seeing an uptick.
