Wow. Shipwrecks and the prospect of treasure and such has created strange bedfellows and murderous enemies so weirdness can’t be dismissed out of hand. Big shout out to the recently passed Clive Cussler who funneled so much of his novels earnings back into finding shipwrecks and advancing the technology to do so. There was a man.
I was once acquainted with one of those active in the first Great Lakes wrecks seeking organizations, and he'd met Clive (RIP) and their group actually used Clive's submersible. Anyone who rolls around in a Duesenberg is aces in my book. :^)
