Dwight Howard has all the basketball reasons in the world to want to jump on a plane and head to Orlando to be part of the NBAs restart of the season. Hes a key big man on a Lakers team that is the odds-on favorite to win it all, and a ring would be the cherry on top of his Hall of Fame career.
But Dwight Howard says players should not play right now, there are far more critical things to focus on in society.
Howard was part of Friday nights 80-player call, led by Kyrie Irving, discussing whether players should be part of the restart. Howard told CNN he thought the NBA should not play right now. Heres Howards statement, via his agent, to CNN.

I agree with Dwight Howard, who knew?
Then, practice what you preach and don’t play.

No - we want to have a race war?
America is so racist, that this retard made 140 million playing a game.
Oh yeah, he doesn’t date Black chicks either.
Oreo cookie, Uncle Tom ass...
Or any moment as far as Im concerned.
He’s got “FU Money”, what does he care.

Non-essential workers.
Don’t play and give back the money you are being paid for playing.
With ESPN having its lowest ratings in 41 years, the roundball money seems to be drying up. Sad, isn’t it? /sarc
Sports fanatics have figured out they can do just fine without their sports. And do he and others realize, no play no pay? Maybe not instantly but certainly eventually. Good luck with that.
I would go one step further and say that basketball is not needed ever.
Pro sports are not needed IMO
