Dwight Howard has all the basketball reasons in the world to want to jump on a plane and head to Orlando to be part of the NBA’s restart of the season. He’s a key big man on a Lakers’ team that is the odds-on favorite to win it all, and a ring would be the cherry on top of his Hall of Fame career.

I have long anticipated, all entertainers would basically do the same thing, basically refuse to work while Trump was still in the WH.

All the more reason that he must win in November.

but Disney paid all that money for BLM - surely the NBA could help them out and help unite the US?

No - we want to have a race war?

There should be two leagues then. One league would include those who want to get paid for playing basketball. The other league would be for those who want to sit out.

I’d love to see less bread and circuses, especially if it meant hearing less from overpaid, priveleged, pampered sports “heroes.” It’d be better for Americans if they’d delay their restart for years.

Can you use sports as a platform to espouse your beliefs if you erase sports from the equation? Let’s find out! There’s some teenage phenom out there just waiting to kneel for the anthem. I can’t wait to hear from him once we work out how we’ll even know who he is.

With ESPN having its lowest ratings in 41 years, the roundball money seems to be drying up. Sad, isn’t it? /sarc

Sports fanatics have figured out they can do just fine without their sports. And do he and others realize, no play no pay? Maybe not instantly but certainly eventually. Good luck with that.
