The NFL Just Declared War On Church
The Federalist ^ | 07/28/20 | Elle Reynolds

A deal reached by the National Football Leauge and the NFL Players Association bans players from attending any indoor church services that are above 25 percent capacity, multiple sources told NBC Sports on Saturday.

Alongside its restrictions on attending worship services, the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) also prohibits players from attending indoor nightclubs and bars (except for take-out), indoor concerts, professional sports games, and indoor parties that include 15 or more people.

The deal has not been publicly released, but NBC Sports made no mention of any restrictions on attending protests. Meanwhile, the NFL’s Twitter account has been sharing and celebrating pictures of players engaging in protests around the country.

A June 5 tweet from the NFL also affirmed that “We, the NFL…encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest.”

As with more typical CBAs, players can face fines if they don’t comply with the restrictions on church and the other activities listed. The fines for each offense can vary, and while they haven’t been revealed for this agreement, violating the CBA used to regulate conduct on the field can result in fines from $5,000 to over $70,000.

NBC Sports also reported that players who test positive for Covid-19 after violating the CBA won’t be paid for games they aren’t able to attend. They would also forego any future guarantees made in their contracts.

If players do violate the rules, NBC Sports speculates that teams may “rely on contacts within the community to contact the team if/when violations are witnessed,” or even use a tip line. In other words, members of the community would be encouraged to report players they see trying to attend church. Other ideas suggested by NBC include tracking players or stationing officials at “local establishments,” potentially including players’

The NFL has been battling the church for who owns Sunday for a long time.

.....cannot go to church....but can be struggling with and breathing heavily in a pileup trying to get a football..

Probably the dumbest thing I've seen is that the NBA is going to have players socially distance on the bench. Out on the court, playing defense, hand checking, getting sweat and saliva all over each other, then sit six feet apart on the sidelines.

There are 22 players on the field at one time.

“This is a stupid headline. The NFL did not declare war on church. Just so you know.“

That’s unfortunate. Had they declared war on church they would have had to form a “fifth column” of players to actually attend church. ;-)

This is a stupid headline. The NFL did not declare war on church. Just so you know.

Well in so much as the NFL has no power to declare war you are correct, but clearly the similitude is apropos.

How many of them actually attend a church anyways?
Or even believe in the Word of God?

1% of players?

I thought NFL players were men. It’s clear they’re acting as — and being treated as by their union and by the NFL itself — as scared, frail little b!tches. Well, if the moniker fits, wear it (especially as they kneel publicly before the racists which make up blm.)

Aren’t there 55 - 60 guys on every sideline? Practice squads, backups, second stringers, etc.? They can hit, tackle, spit, sweat, bleed, on each other, but they cannot worship God together.

Actually, The NFL long ago declared war on Church by having Sunday morning games, Satanic super bowl halftime shows, etc. This is merely the next phase of their war...

You might be surprised at the number of Born Again players. They obviously do not have a say...

Trust me, if it’s more than 5, I’d be surprised.

All sports are full of evil men IMHO.

Sure, there are evil men in sports. We have a small church in the Midwest and have had future NFL players come through. They love the Lord and shined for him. Kurt Warner and his family were personal friends of mine. God has his people in the NFL...I think more than many of my Corporate America jobs. That said, the NFL organization that Roger Goodell has created over the last 20 years has become evil. Like google, Facebook, Twitter, and most of corporate America

So they can ban them from church but not from kneeling for the national anthem?

Well, someday, they are all going to bend the knee to Jesus Christ.

Whether they like it or not.

I doubt it, the NFL was making a comeback because they had pulled back from their BLM nonsense, but they have double downed on it. All professional teams have no become traitors by bending the knee to them.

When I saw the headline, I thought it would say that the NFL moved its games to Sunday mornings.
