A deal reached by the National Football Leauge and the NFL Players Association bans players from attending any indoor church services that are above 25 percent capacity, multiple sources told NBC Sports on Saturday.
Alongside its restrictions on attending worship services, the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) also prohibits players from attending indoor nightclubs and bars (except for take-out), indoor concerts, professional sports games, and indoor parties that include 15 or more people.
The deal has not been publicly released, but NBC Sports made no mention of any restrictions on attending protests. Meanwhile, the NFL’s Twitter account has been sharing and celebrating pictures of players engaging in protests around the country.
A June 5 tweet from the NFL also affirmed that “We, the NFL…encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest.”
As with more typical CBAs, players can face fines if they don’t comply with the restrictions on church and the other activities listed. The fines for each offense can vary, and while they haven’t been revealed for this agreement, violating the CBA used to regulate conduct on the field can result in fines from $5,000 to over $70,000.
NBC Sports also reported that players who test positive for Covid-19 after violating the CBA won’t be paid for games they aren’t able to attend. They would also forego any future guarantees made in their contracts.
If players do violate the rules, NBC Sports speculates that teams may “rely on contacts within the community to contact the team if/when violations are witnessed,” or even use a tip line. In other words, members of the community would be encouraged to report players they see trying to attend church. Other ideas suggested by NBC include tracking players or stationing officials at “local establishments,” potentially including players’

So they can ban them from church but not from kneeling for the national anthem?
The NFL is SOL for everyone I know.
There is nothing left worth spit, there.
Idly wondering if the Marlins went out partying, or to a church revival/social.
Also bars and restaurants.
I think it applies to everything except burning and looting.
That second part is “patriotic” now, the other is just 1A.
Apparently can’t get Covid from assaulting police.
...The NFL bans players from attending a church service above 25% capacity but rioting is cool.
My answer to the NFL business model and their owners,
Burn Baby Burn!
If deaths didn’t spike again in NYC after the protests (riots) then why isn’t that being used as evidence that this whole thing is pretty overblown?
Why aren’t “experts” even being asked why?

When do they even go to church? Church is on Sunday, that’s game day. Aren’t they spending hours in the locker room pre-game getting their ankles taped and etc.?
This is a stupid headline. The NFL did not declare war on church. Just so you know.
As if they go to church ...
Yeah; right.
Everyone has already been exposed to the virus. Everyone. The idiots will be expelling all players.
Come September 1st, we will still see heavily participated NFL threads.
Makes sense .....cannot go to church....but can be struggling with and breathing heavily in a pileup trying to get a football...real posturing there..
:)
But nightclubs are OK
The letters “NFL” now stand for-—
“ No Further Loyalty”
Pats, I thank you for the memories.
Good Luck.
The mindless (even conservatives) fans will continue to watch the games as if nothing else matters. They could have an Alerican flag burning at all times during the games with hktogs roasting on them, and they could force all fans to bow to a black African statue before they entered the stadium and they would fill the seats. I really can’t think of anything that woul offend them enough to stay away. No pride at all. Sad state.
