Research where the basic components for ammunition come from and what Obama did. Lead comes from.........China. This country sold its own soul when they voted for that bastard.

yep, and have 6-10 magazines per pistol...12-20 per semi auto. Make sure you get the max capacity factory magazine your firearm can take....17 for glock, etc, not the 30 + aftermarkets or +2 extenders.....thats for later

Also, see if you can pick up spare parts, especially extractors and springs. Good holster or two, cleaning kit, maybe a light attachment after you get some iron sight training. Long range? Threaded barrel and suppressor, mulit caliber kit, etc, after buying good shotgun, 22LR, semi auto, hunting rifle, etc.

Ive always said that the Ruger 10/22 .22LR will be rifle of the 2nd Civil War....like the brown bess /kentucky long rifle was for the revolutionary war, the little 10/22, esp. if suppressed and a Norrell auto-sear will clear out a crowd.

IDF uses them for a reason. Click HERE.

Exactly.

I think a venerable M1 Garand would be adequate for just about any self defense situation.

"Get off my lawn, antifa and blm!"

Savage and Mossberg are selling "budget rifles with a Vortex or a Weaver 3x9 for about $350 here in 30-06, 6.5 Creedmore, .270, .243, .300 Win Mag, etc.

They are actually very decent rifles capable of 1 moa at 100 yds.

So, I have >500 rounds of 9mm.

What scenarios do you think I might need that much?

Learning to shoot with some skill... That is a good start for the first month.

I suggest getting an air pistol and pellets, they are much cheaper for learning sights and trigger control.

You should be doing a about 10 minutes of dry fire practice a day.

500 rounds is plenty for nearly all emergencies... and just enough to get started on building a skill set.

There are some laser training sytems out there which could supplement your ammunition.

Reading a significant number of self-defense books, could help with ammunition a lot.

A gun is a tool.

You need to learn how and when to use it.

I’ve been “rolling my own” for years.

Passing this knowledge along to my teens as well. Just about everything we shoot, we can make ourselves. As far as ammo is concerned.

500+ rounds is enough to get comfortable with your weapon and to make sure it works well. Hopefully some of it is some decent self-defense rounds. Those are still available on-line but you’ll pay $1+ per round.

Yes - it would be nice to have several thousands of rounds. But - you’re better off than those just now trying to find target 9mm ammo. I was looking online just for grins (I don’t have a 9mm), and NOBODY has target rounds available in 9mm or .40.

My wife just got a .380. Thankfully it was a couple months ago and I got her 1000 rounds for training and 400 in self-defense. There is nothing available on-line. Of course now I wish that I had bought twice as much.

I think I’m going to look into some of the electronic training systems to save on ammo. And of course with the price of ammo so high, those systems look better every day.

Headlines two months from now: “Electronic shooting systems at all-time low availability.”

Question for you about reloading. Where do you get your lead for casting bullets? I have been told that many tire stores will let you take or sell to you, some of their tire lead weights. But that lead seems a bit hard for bullets.

Thoughts / recommendations?

extra mags, loaded first thing. red or green optics is nice. that “little gun” will work for average walking down the street mugger or several shots over the window sill at political zombies the antifa type political zombie will run. Real zombies? you better get a pump shotgun.

the most important thing you need to do is RANGE TIME. shoot that little sucker till if feels like part of your arm.

Up to 700 rounds, no failures. I’m deadly at 7 yards on a static target. Dot torture is next.

Yes, I know I should be taking all sorts of classes. Good luck trying to find a class in my area. I’m signed up for a CCW 3 weeks from now 70 miles away. That was the soonest.

In the last week or so, .45 ACP has become extremely scarce everywhere. My range had plenty back in early July, when 9 mm was getting hard to find. So - thinking I was smart - I bought a .45...and now there isn’t any ammo... :)
