In related news, it was ruled that Budweiser is “not a real beer.”

So add some more sugar and call it a doughnut. NOW it’s a staple food!

American “bread”🥖 🍞 🥯 in general is not bread. Too processed!

I think the result in this case has more to do with the government’s desire to keep Subway’s taxes high than it has to do with Subway’s bread.

Sounds like Ireland is going back to the Feudalism of the Middle Ages with the bread tax of Manor Life.

It’s bread, just not really good bread.

I am going to chime in here are you anti-subway idiots

30 to 40% of my body mass consists of veggie patty or their tuna hoagie I put all the vegetables. they bake their own bread which is very fresh and very good. The ovens are right there in front of you. They’re a bakery. I like the nine grain bread

Go ahead and review the ingredients on the veggie patty- it’s quite an incredible thing mostly brown rice and mushrooms

And you notice it’s stupid article which I keep seeing in all these high leftist courts in Europe or New York that have determined that their bread is not bread - that’s idiotic. They bake it right in front of you !

If you don’t like sugar don’t eat it ! it’s a simple carbohydrate and GREAT FUEL

When we were kids in big swim tournaments - we used to take Jell-O boxes and eat the Jell-O raw for just pure sugar , before the race

So you weenies , writing these stupid articles, trying to trash subway

which is the greatest sandwich place ever invented

should just go home

Subway’s rolls all suck, but I like their flatbread.

I wonder if that was included in the ruling.

The Irish shouldn’t be telling anyone what bread is or isn’t. The French, Italians, and some others...sure. They make good bread. Irish bread is nasty. Too little gluten, tends to get hard quickly and fall apart, etc..

So....it has too much sugar in it to be “bread”. Therefore, it must be cake.

What the heck... I say, let them eat cake!

What? People still go to Subway? I quit years ago when they gave me a Philly Steak sandwich with one oz of meat in it. They deserve to go bankrupt.

No surprise; Subway's meat isn't real either.

Not as silly as a case I recall a few years ago where milk from a cow could not be labelled milk because it lacked the added chemicals.

Tax law can create some weird situations. Like when Pringles argued in court that they were not really potato chips to avoid a European VAT. (Have to agree with the attorneys here that Pringles aren’t a potato chip but I would go on to say nor in any way resemble food.)
