1.. Today, I interviewed my grandmother for part of a research paper I'm working on for my Psychology class. When I asked her to define success in her own words, she said; "Success is when you look back at your life and the memories make you smile."
------------------------------ 2.. Today, after my 72 hour shift at the fire station, a woman ran up to me at the grocery store and gave me a hug. When I tensed up, she realized I didn't recognize her. She let go with tears of joy in her eyes and the most sincere smile and said; "On 9-11-2001, you carried me out of the World Trade Center."
------------------------------ 3.. Today, after I watched my dog get run over by a car, I sat on the side of the road holding him and crying. And just before he died; He licked the tears off my face.
------------------------------ 4.. Today at 7AM, I woke up feeling ill, but decided I needed the money, so I went into work. At 3PM I got laid off. On my drive home I got a flat tire. When I went into the trunk for the spare, it was flat too. A man in a BMW pulled over, gave me a ride, we chatted, and then he offered me a job. I start tomorrow.
------------------------------ 5.. Today, as my father, three brothers, and two sisters stood around my mother's hospital bed, my mother uttered her last coherent words before she died. She simply said, "I feel so loved right now. We should have gotten together like this more often."
------------------------------ 6.. Today, I kissed my dad on the forehead as he passed away in a small hospital bed. About 5 seconds after he passed, I realized it was the first time I had given him a kiss since I was a little boy.
------------------------------ 7.. Today, in the cutest voice, my 8-year-old daughter asked me to start recycling. I chuckled and asked, "Why?" She replied, "So you can help me save the planet." I chuckled again and asked, "And why do you want to save the planet?" Because that's where I keep all my stuff," she said.
------------------------------ 8.. Today, when I witnessed a 27-year-old breast cancer patient laughing hysterically at her 2-year-old daughter's antics, I suddenly realized that, I need to stop complaining about my life and start celebrating it again.
------------------------------ 9.. Today, a boy in a wheelchair saw me desperately struggling on crutches with my broken leg and offered to carry my backpack and books for me. He helped me all the way across campus to my class and as he was leaving he said, "I hope you feel better soon."
------------------------------ 10. Today, I was feeling down because the results of a biopsy came back malignant. When I got home, I opened an e-mail that said, "Thinking of you today. If you need me, I'm a phone call away." It was from a high school friend I hadn't seen in 10 years.
------------------------------ 11. Today, I was traveling in Kenya and I met a refugee from Zimbabwe. He said he hadn't eaten anything in over 3 days and looked extremely skinny and unhealthy. Then my friend offered him the rest of the sandwich he was eating. The first thing the man said was "We can share it".
God bless.
Thought provoking. Thanks.
Thanks. I really needed this today.
Today, I was traveling in Kenya ...
Was it a day school trip from DC? :)
Today I saw a take down of the most Patriotic President to come along in 2 generations and I saw almost NO republicans support him.
Today I saw a COUP!!
I see our next president plan to put a transgender freak in charge of the military transition, a president beholden to blm/antifa/Planned Parenthood and all that is evil in America, a President that will wreck our country on every level and make white Christian men (and women) target practice with his rhetoric
So before we give praise and thanks for this and that, how about we stay angry for a little while and not so open hearted and forgiving as usual.
Love and pretty lists of whatever aren’t going to stop the Ds from destroying America.
Fighting will.
You want to be THANKFUL that you’re not that starving child that was mentioned on this list?? OR all the other bad off people that were mentioned?
Show it by FIGHTING for a country that is about to be stolen from you!!
Or you will be on this list...the broke, broken, hated, bottom of the rung AMERICAN, and the word American WILL be said with disgust towards you.
So print the pretty list and put it on your fridge.
And then go for target practice.
The real world awaits you.
And it’s not a pretty list.
Enjoyed reading these; kept thinking that God gives evidence every day and every night of His goodness and mercy. And to those who know Him He produces good fruit.

Thank You for Today’s E-Mail to spread around.
#3. My dog is getting older. She adores me. I’ll be spending some extra time with her to warrant that adoration. I know the tears are coming down the road, but for now I’ll cherish the time remaining with her.
d0622 all due respect......we too are struggling with what happened 11/3/2020.....
Every day is tension, distress, hand wringing......
.....but I appreciate this lovely reminder of God’s touch on our lives And I am glad that I could read it this morning!
Agreeing with ‘Empathy’ does not mean a surcease from our ‘war’
.....but it is a lovely ‘balm of Gilead’ that we all desperately need!
God Bless....Post #9 was for you too!
Thank you both.......dry fire practice is as good as going to the range and saves ammo.
Geez dp0622.....
Go easy on sodpoodle.....it was a list to remind us of our humanity before we put on our Viking helmets and go forth to kill and plunder.....
Maybe a little less coffee in the AM?
Freeregards!
As a pilot I volunteer for rehabilitation hospital flights where we take up people who have had life altering spinal injuries. We flew a guy who was a quadriplegic. He was probably 27. He looked downtrodden until we got him secured in the airplane and off the ground. When asked if he was enjoying his flight he said, “I am a pilot. Army. Got shot down.” He grinned. Amazingly, he recovered from his injury after a prognosis that said he never would, and said that flight gave him back his will to live.
thx
Welcome
A Buddy told Me about this one exercise from a Handgun Class He and His Fiance took.
Empty Mag and Pistol. Place an empty case on top of the Slide by the Front Sight. Dry Fire to practice smooth Trigger Contol without vibrating the Case off the Slide.
I haven’t tried it yet but I’m betting it’s not that easy to do.
Next time I’m at the range to qualify I’ll show my instructor that. Thanks.
Love this!
Beautiful post, sodpoodle, and beautiful response, Guenevere.
Thank you!
