There’s an expert for pretty much everything here… I am patching a pretty crappy concrete driveway, and I had a 6” at deepest hole to fix. I cleaned it out, washed it repeatedly with my pressure washer, painted it with bonding compound, and filled it with Quikrete Commercial-grade concrete (orange bag)… and discovered I was probably about 2 bags short. It finished ½” to 1” short of the end depth. It has been curing for two days now.
We are losing our country all around us yet you are posting a vanity about losing your stupid concrete driveway. Yeah. Like timing is everything.
Concrete does not bond well with itself. Add a primer layer before adding any more concrete.
Lighten up... it is sometimes good to discuss other subjects to get your mind off of the crap the Democrats are trying to pull at least for a moment.
I think you’ll want to use something like Polymer Modified Structural Repair concrete for that.
You should have filled the hole first with dead commies, and you probably would have needed less concrete.
Let the bonding agent become tacky and I would recommend drilling some 1/2×1” deep holes in existing for better bond. Use a masonry bit.
Hey, at least he didn’t carpet-bomb the feed with 10-12 anti-concrete anecdotes...
Sounds like someone was listening to Matt Bracken's podcast today...
You should have made a youtube video showing how to screwup a screwed up driveway. You could have made a fortune!
I can do something about my half-acre of life. I have to wait out the madness with the rest of us. You are pretty vindictive for a freeper. I and I’ve seen ten years of Freeping. Cool your jets and get a hobby. Like home repair.
LOLOLOL!!!!
Totally agree. Sometimes you have to have a bit of humor, a project, or just listen to music, read — heck, anything of interest to you — just to focus on something besides ALL negative, ALL the time.
Follow the instructions.
The recommendation to drill holes is good as well.
Do that before you apply the adhesive. (which I'm pretty sure you could figure out buuuut...just to be safe...LOL)(don't leave it puddled up in the hole)
Quikrete answers: concrete over concrete application tips @WOC2016
when is concrete dry
The general rule of thumb is that concrete takes about 30 days to dry for every one inch of slab thickness.
LOL!!Actually, I hadn't listened to it. I was going to say Democrats, but then changed it to commies, because they're one and the same.
anything you do short of tearing out and replacing the slab is a crap shoot... good luck...

Good idea, drill holes, cut rebar, make a type of lattice with rebar in to the drill holes. Fill holes with concrete and finish.
