The Portland family at the center of the “Red House” controversy reportedly has a second home located only 2 miles away, according to property records.
The house, located on Mississippi Avenue and owned by the Kinney family since the 1950s, has been the focus of protests after the family was evicted following a protracted legal battle over foreclosure.
The Kinney family has continued legal challenges to their eviction, and they have stayed at a second home during the protests that's located less than 2 miles from the “Red House,” OPB reported.
When OPB reporters visited the home, the Kinneys’ son Michael answered the door, confirming that the family owned it, but then told the outlet they needed to schedule an interview for any further questions.
Pauline Kinney owns the home, according to property records, having purchased both homes in the 1950s and 1960s. Pauline then sold the “Red House” to her daughter, Julie, in 1995. The Kinneys paid off their house but took out a new mortgage to pay defense lawyers after a family member was arrested in 2002.

Meanwhile, because of the attention to the case, the family has managed to raise $300,000 with a GoFundMe. Perhaps this explains why we didn’t hear about the other home sooner.
There’s more. The man who bought the home in 2018 but hasn’t been able to use it because of all this has offered the family the ability the ability to buy it back for cost, the $260,000 that he paid for the home.

What a stupid move. That's almost as stupid as co-signing a loan for someone. I've heard too many horror stories.

OK, let me see if I get this straight. Another marxist “autonomous zone” has popped up because:
1) Some family lost their home to foreclosure, because they mortgaged it to pay the legal bills of some criminal family member.
2) The rightful owner has been unable to take possession, because the family refused to leave and had to be evicted.
3)The family owns a second house nearby and only recently moved in to it. One can presume it’s because they didn’t like being stuck in this new “autonomous zone”.
4) The family, which owns 2 homes, has been given north of $300K by people that are sympathetic
5) The rightful owner has offered to sell the house back for what he paid; $260K.
Did I et the facts right? Seems to me, they buy the house back, pocket a $40K profit and move on the the next grift.

The only satisfaction I get about all this starting up again, is that it’s winter and will be stinking cold and wet.
That will keep a lot of it down in more northern cities.

If the original owners buy it back from the new owner, they will get to share the house with those squatting in it now.
Will the re-buy owners call the sheriff to evict the squatters?
