An overeager dad dressed in a full-on Buddy the Elf costume — from the 2003 Will Ferrell movie — to pick up his daughter after school, and her mortified reaction was priceless.
“Oh, my goodness, it’s Alayna!” Gregory Sumsion shouted at his high-schooler while wearing the yellow and green outfit and curly wig. “I know her! I know her!” he continued as he approached his shocked daughter, who exclaimed, “Why am I related to you?!” as her nearby mother captured the whole thing for TikTok. The video has been viewed nearly 6 million times.
“I want to sing you a song,” screamed the shameless dad, jumping around in the snow and excitedly grabbing at his teen daughter. “Alayna, I’m here, and I love you!” he sang as she jokingly swatted him away.

I can’t stand Will Ferrell.........
God, I miss my dad. He wouldn’t do anything zany like this, but he was always there whenever I needed him.
I hope the young girl looks back on this later with smiles of delight.
Seems kind of exhibitionist and cringy, “look at me and how much I love my daughter!”. But whatever, maybe I’m just in a Grinchy mood tonight.
I can’t stand him, either.
Ditto here. Way overrated.
The Other Guys. Only watchable film from that him.
I thought I was the only one...
Yep.
I can’t stand Will Ferrell.........
I totally agree, with one exception.
The small part he played at the end of Wedding Crashers was pretty funny.
+1,000,000 on that
He was too damn old for all the parts he played.
Not funny seeing a 45 year old guy acting like a teenager. Sort of like seeing a man with a business suite wearing dangling earrings.
One Halloween, many years ago, I picked my kids up from the elementary school carpool line dressed in a full gorilla suit.......
Got out of the car and chased several kids around the line.....kids and teachers alike loved it...
Good times :^)
There ya go....the whole reason for doing this. Everyone wants to go viral & be famous......
I like Will Farrell movies, especially “Elf”. This sounds like a pretty funny stunt, but then, I have the maturity of a twelve year old and it seems to work out well finding satisfaction in life.
It's show business.
The restaurant I ate at last night had a dish on the menu called "Ma...the Meatloaf!" :)
