After being a registered Republican my entire life (I'm 58y/o), I re-registered today and can now call myself a registered Independent. The best thing about this is, I can now give the RNC the middle finger.

This is an official message from the California Secretary of State regarding your voter registration.
Our records indicate that you submitted a voter registration application on the Secretary of State’s website. Your application will be processed within 3 to 5 days. Once complete, your county elections office will mail you a Voter Notification Card.
After your application is processed, you may check your voter registration status using the Secretary of State’s My Voter Status website at voterstatus.sos.ca.gov

As long as you NEVER vote against the republican candidate(s), and don’t vote for the ‘independent’ candidate, then, it’s okay to go incognito.
Voting for an ‘independent’ will insure that a democrat wins whatever the race.
I will crawl through broken glass to purge the RINOs in the 2022 primaries.

Good Idea! How does one change from Republican to independent?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you purge the system of Dominion machines, you may as well spare your knees the broken glass. The dems know they can cheat to beat the band, and NOTHING will happen. Do you really think they’re going to secure the vote in the future?
I want to point out that if you decide to no longer vote in California, you must fill out a voter registration removal request. I did this when I received an absentee ballot after I retired from the service and registered to vote in Maryland. The registrar’s office told me to shred the ballot (which I did).
If you let your old registration remain on the books, you just open another door for election fraud even if you yourself would never commit fraud.
ah bad choice. if you want to make a statement, register democrat so you can screw with the local elections, and work up from there.

They ushered in Biden and undermined Trump for four years.
Now, laughably, they say we can - with our money - win back the House and Senate. They function as an additional layer of Democrat power.
I can tell you, I’m a lot happier without FOX. The only thing watching them does is enrich people that hate and loathe me. I have time for more enjoyable things.

Around here registering as a Democrat would still leave an impossible choice in the Federal office primaries.
(1) Support the corrupt “establishment” incumbent who thinks they have a lifetime gravy train.
(2) Support an insane leftist insurgent who wants the FBI to scoop up straight white people for soylent green.
I left the republican party AFTER Reagan. The primary reason... george h. w. bush!!!
