(CNN)A livestream of a virtual court proceeding in Texas took an "appawling" turn when a lawyer appeared as a cat on screen.
Judge Roy B. Ferguson of the 394th Judicial District Court in Texas kindly addressed the cat in the virtual room, suggesting that attorney Rod Ponton adjust his Zoom settings. The mishap on Tuesday was posted by the court's YouTube channel. "Mr. Ponton, I believe you have a filter turned on in the video settings," the judge said. The small, white kitten looked sad with its concerned eyes darting back and forth. The kitten opened its mouth to speak. "Can you hear me judge?" Ponton said, appearing in the cat filter. "I'm here, live, I'm not a cat," he said a few seconds later.

OMG....that....is hilarious!!
He handled it very gracefully; and I’d personally have a lot of fun at those parties...
It was but how are we seeing it, given there is a prohibition right on the screen that says recording of the video hearing is prohibited?
i read where it showed up on posted by the Judge but I didnt verify
I’m a Lawyer, that makes me a Cool Cat.
Well, at least he didn’t ask to be called “Shamisen”
“I’m not a meow cat.”
That is a hilarious scene. That one, and the one where they pull over the stoners...
I have already done a two-day trial in Federal Court via Zoom, and it required a bit of a different skill set than in-person trial work. You learn, for instance, how important camera angles and lighting are. Get them wrong, and you’ll look like Count Diracula or the corpse he invited for lunch. I learned also that no matter how neat your office really is, it always looks like a cluttered mess on Zoom. Subpoenaing witnesses who have to appear by Zoom is both more difficult and easier. It requires at lot of planning and preparation. Working with exhibits, which are submitted and distributed beforehand electronically, turned out to be far easier than I expected. Anyway, the advantages seem to outweigh the disadvantages, so I expect this is here to stay in some form to another.
Glad I don’t do zoom. Only a few condo board meetings and they have normal phone number you can call and listen in without the video.
I have no intention of loading the software on any device I own nor learning how to use it at any point.
Now stay off my lawn!
I didn’t know that Hogwarts had a law school
