Earlier this year, Cadbury released an advert to celebrate the Creme Egg’s Golden Goobilee aka, our favourite fondant-stuffed egg’s 50th birthday. The advert showcased a number of different ways to enjoy Creme Eggs – you can lick them, bake with them, dip them, and share them. But unfortunately, the final option has offended a number of people and a petition has been launched to ban the advert.
In the advert, real life couple Callum Sterling and Dale K Moran share a Creme Egg by both biting it at the same time. But because Callum and Dale are gay, 25,000 people have decided the advert should be banned.
The petition to remove the advert says: “By choosing to feature a same-sex couple, Cadbury's are clearly hoping to cause controversy and escape criticism, by claiming that any objections must be rooted in 'homophobia', but members of the LGBT community have also expressed their dislike of this campaign.
“Cadbury's should not be seeking to hide under cover of LGBT rights to conduct a campaign which sexually objectifies individuals. If the couple in question were heterosexual, the advertisement would likely be prohibited, given the sexually explicit and graphic nature of the kiss."

Brand suicide continues.
Amazing.
Nobody wants to see that. I don’t care how “woke” they are, one simply cannot look at men snogging and think it is ok.
Why are so many ads steeped in gay? what % of the market is gay?
Pushing the satanic culture of homos in commercials is so very repulsive to one’s senses and morality.
Totally disgusting!
I just don’t get it, and it’s all in time for Easter!!
The funny bunnies don’t reproduce like crazy. They just hop around and lay rabbit eggs. Little round ones. I sometimes find them in the yard. Don’t try to make Thanksgiving stuffing with them.
What could go wrong?
Two gays kissing with white cream on their face......
For a Christian High Holiday......
Wokesters are in charge of marketing as well as HR out in the corporate world.
It's not about catering to a group of people to get a small slice of a market share they probably already had.
It's about agenda and pushing homosexuality as normal and changing the morals of society and culture.
“snogging”........Never seen that word before................
Solid advice...
Bingo
This would be inappropriate even if were a man and a woman. Sounds rather risqué, period.
It was pointless to ask that the ad be removed. They went to too much trouble and expense and thought about it too deeply for anyone to expect them to say “oops” and take it down. The spokesman’s response doubled down on the wokeness of the company. The best thing to do is point it out to people who will probably be too disgusted to buy the eggs going forward.
What do Santa Claus and reindeer have to do with the Birth of Yeshua?
While this connection is already lost on many, I have to believe it is not lost on Cadbury and this was a conscious decision to profane the intended symbolism. If it was unintentional, that's a pretty sharp poke in the eye to the demographic most likely to buy their eggs in observance of Easter.
Hint to any advertisers out there - don't go "woke" with your ads. In fact don't bring politics, religion, social justice, environment, etc. into it. Just tell me about the product or service and why it is better than the alternatives. If you're targeting the "woke" fools with your ads know that you are not only not going to succeed with me or people like me, but you are also probably going to drive us away from ever considering your client's product or service in the future.
Big yuck factor!!!
