Ted hasn't seen his Army issued Springfield 1903A4 since 1944, but he's in for a surprise and then he'll try a shot he's never fathomed...1,000 yards with a modern sniper rifle, AMU's custom Remington 700. Shame he didn't get to apply his skills to Narcissus Boy "Jimmy The Acoster"...

I would have paid good money for a video of that...

Thanks for posting that. I had a big grin on my face the whole time watching him do that.

Like riding a bicycle for him...I guess!

RIP, sir.

"I think there may be...just may be.. a lot off “old snipers” out there!"

There are a lot of young active and Veteran snipers from our 20 year wars in the ME. As I've said many times here and other sites, think clandestine and Swamp Rats. Their expertise is what I'm talking about.

If things really get as bad many suspect, hopefully they use their skill-sets to support their Oaths to the Constitution. I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that, and don't want any part of it. Just want to live my remaining days in peace with my Wife and doggie.

That was an awesome episode. Amazing how humble those men are given what they went through.

The greatest sniper in world history might be a vaccinator. 1 shot 1 kill.

I had the privilege of meeting a Vietnam War Era sniper at a local angel a couple of years ago. From looking at his target, yeah, he still had the touch. He and his spotter used to sign their casings and leave them behind as psy-ops. Said there was a no-excrement bounty on their heads.

I met a guy once who said his uncle was number two behind Hathcock in Vietnam.

If true, very special kind of hero.

5in group at 1,000 yds.

There’s not 10 people on FR that can do that, or have ever done that.

No matter the equipment.

I wasn't aware of any wars in Maine, what am I missing here?

Every old man should be able to do 5in groups at 600yds.

It’s a requirement for being an old white guy.

That’s ½ MOA. Entirely doable by someone with good (not rare) equipment, cooperative weather, and a few days to train.

Well he certainly wasn’t a slouch with the ‘03. A real badass. And humble about it.

But many that can equal his performance with the ‘03A4. A nation of deer hunters.
