All Three Finalists to Be President of The Evergreen State College Withdraw From Process

A year-long process to find the next president of The Evergreen State College came to a shocking conclusion Wednesday when the college’s Board of Trustees emerged from a three-hour meeting and announced that the three finalists for the job had withdrawn their names from consideration.

Anyone who has followed the Evergreen story knows what a disaster a group of far-left woke student made of the college. Enrollment has been dropping, and George Bridges, the current president has been driving the school into the ground by aquiesing to the far left demands.

You have to be nut to take that job now. First of all, the school is in a tailspin. Secondly, the far left that runs the place will demand you be their lapdog, or they will destroy you.

Trustee David Nicandri said the common conceit about the college is that its biggest challenge is in recruitment and retention, but he also cited a “deeper set of problems” facing the college, which he did not identify.

One of those (at least) is that the radicals in the faculty and administration own the playpen and like things exactly as they are, thank you very much, and never mind if the college goes broke because they can always tap the state for more money. It's worked up to now.

For their commencement speaker in 1990 Evergreen State College hired Mumia Jamal, the infamous convicted cop killer to speak via telephone to their graduating class from his cell on death row. They've been messed up for a long time.
Their school mascot is the geoduck clam - pronounced "gooey duck". A long lived and delicious bivalve that I enjoy digging and frying.

Evergreen State was a disaster even before that. Higher education as designed by Franz Kafka...”write your own curriculum”, “make your lab notes in pen only...NO erasing”...”what grade do you think you earned”.

One of my high school classmates was forced to go there by his mother. He’s not even remotely conservative, but he openly calls his time there the worst experience of his life, and says that if it weren’t for a few good friends he made during the ordeal, he’d never go anywhere near the campus or Olympia ever again.

The article provides no details on why the candidates withdrew, but my guess is that the nature of the interviews, along with the “community” feedback, made them realize that they were dealing with psychopaths and they wanted nothing to do with it.
