So if the Senate votes the January 6th commission down, what’s to stop the Democrats from just holding hearings on their own? They spent two years looking into Benghazi using just House committees without any need for Senate approval. What’s to stop them from using the same tactic on this?

35 Reps in the House voted for it along with every Dem. All 10 Reps who voted for impeachment have a vested interest in blaming Jan 6 on Trump.

If this 1/6 commission gets established, there’s no question they’ll call on Pres. Trump to testify. The question is whether he would agree to submit himself to their inquiry.
