German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Friday praised immigrants for their contribution to society, and for helping Germany become more open and diverse.
Speaking at an event marking the 60th anniversary of the German-Turkish recruitment agreement, Steinmeier praised the families of Turkish immigrants and called them an important part of Germany.
A Germany without guest workers, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would be “simply unimaginable today,” Steinmeier said at the event.
Germany began recruiting workers from abroad to in industries such as agriculture, construction, steel, automotive and mining in the 1950s. […]
The President said he is shocked when people with a different skin color, language or religion became targets of hatred. Xenophobia must “never be tolerated in Germany,” he said.

Sorry, can you clarify?
Total BS especially now that the current “immigrants” want to destroy what Germany is and turn it into an Islamic state.
“Germany began recruiting workers from abroad to in industries such as agriculture, construction, steel, automotive and mining in the 1950s.”
Japan also recruited workers after WW2. The difference is that their families stayed home and the workers had time limits, after which they had to leave.
It is in they consider the Roman legions “migrants”.
So, their president is an idiot too.

How’d that thing with the Romans work out?
A country with a people that go back to the Stone Age has been recruiting immigrant workers since the 1950s, and that's a "background"? I don't think so. I think, if anything, it's an experiment. And it's not working out too well.

They sure treated the Jews well during the 30’s and 40’s. /s
And they sure had a lot of foreign Polish workers in the 1940s.
😂
Except for Jews.
He meant except for Jews, right?
A lot is said by what’s omitted.
But of course.
Please don’t tell anybody, but Steinmeier is the worst post-war president this poor country had. 100% puppet, 0% class.
Thank you very much for your words, Sir. Spot on :-)
However, all Western European nations have had very similar problems since the Fifties (though unfortunately, in the sixties, I’d say, the USA, Australia and Canada followed suit. The fateful 1965 Immigration Act is still being badly remembered).
And I know of no country, whether in Europe or not, where they’ve really been solved.
