Reuters is befuddled about why police are retiring at their desks in Minneapolis

They came out with an important investigative report showing shockingly collapsed numbers of police responses to crime in Minneapolis. But they called the damning data "complicated."

In the wake of the rabid left's demonization of police, the "Ferguson effect" has come onto Minneapolis with a vengeance since the death of petty criminal George Floyd while in police custody.

That's news. But despite statistics like this:

In the year after Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020, the number of people approached on the street by officers who considered them suspicious dropped by 76%, Reuters found after analyzing more than 2.2 million police dispatches in the city. Officers stopped 85% fewer cars for traffic violations. As they stopped fewer people, they found and seized fewer illegal guns.

...and this:

In May, the most recent month for which complete records were available, officers initiated about 58% fewer encounters than they did in the same month the year before.

The number of traffic stops they conducted was down 85% over the same period. Business checks — in which officers stop at a business to talk to employees and customers — were down 76%. The number of people the police stopped for acting suspiciously also dropped 76%.

Reuters is befuddled.

The intermediate phase between orderly society where police are being told by the government to go after criminals and the next phase where the communist government orders police to go after the capable or those who speak the truth.

“The city is well on its way to becoming a third-world dump, complete with lousy economy, corruption galore, a rundown look, crime like Caracas, zero investment, and people fleeing.”

I think you can safely change “the city” to “the nation”.
Yesterday, my wife of nearly 60 years asked me if I thought we were too old to maybe immigrate to Australia.
Not only too late, but Australia would not want non productive people like us.
But that question would have been completely unheard of just a year or so ago and now, I would recommend all my children and grand children looking into it before it is too late.

You have to be dumber than a bag of hammers to be befuddled over this. Isn’t Chauvin now facing Federal charges? Sheesh!

Derek Chauvin is an ashole no doubt but his right knee didn’t kill St. George of Floyd. The big dope offed himself with fentanyl but evidence from the video nor blood lab results matter when the holy lie is exalted to match the false emotional narratives. Protect and coddle criminals while vilify the police is a recipe for disaster.

These are the same sort of people who are mystified the Taliban doesn’t have female representation or use special personal pronouns.

Why on God’s earth would you move to Australia where everyone is locked down?

Communists always destroy economies. They blame the actions of criminals on the lack of equality which they blame on the rich. Then they go after the rich. That is right before everyone is starving.

You’re clearly not hearing about the Covid lockdown police state that Australia has become.

These cops in MN not doing stops doesn’t bother me at all.
Libs and blacks want to live in anarchy, embrace the suck.

Now, cops in Australia acting like brown shirts, may they achieve ambient temperature post haste…

He’s facing federal charges along with the other 2 cops who were present at the Floyd drug overdose.

They want “woke” cops. Cops that yell...”stop! Or I’ll yell stop again”! Cops that never pull a gun. Cops that won’t even carry a gun.

Australia is worse than the US. They are in total lockdown and the police are beating and gassing people who dare to venture too far from their homes.

Everything is “complicated” and confusing to Neanderthal “experts”.

Of course “they never see it coming” either.

Yep. If you aren’t backed up by your local government, why do the dangerous stuff?

I work in a gun store so I see more than the average number of cops who want to retire to Tennessee from other states and all of them say that the lack of support from their local and state officials is driving them to retire to Tennessee.
