Brian Laundrie’s parents are not likely to face criminal charges in connection with Gabby Petito’s disappearance and suspected death, law-enforcement experts told The Post on Monday, citing the difficulty in building any potential case against them.
Christopher and Roberta Laundrie have kept mum since Petito was reported missing Sept. 11, even barring cops from speaking to their lawyered-up son, who has since vanished himself.
The sensational case took a tragic turn Sunday when a body “consistent” with Petito’s description was found at Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.

Careful. Voicing your willingness to help your child in this type of trouble will bring out those here that will accuse you of being the worst person in the world, a criminal and a puppy-stomper. Love and blood be damned. Even those that have admitted they weren’t sure how they’d handle it have brought out the village witch-burners and ankle-biters. Take shelter immediately.
Her body was found on flat ground. No cliffs.

No one has said it was buried. Just that they found human remains. So still a possibility it was suicide (doubtful, but possible).
I hope you are never on a jury.
That would make them accessories after the fact.
But I think what most people find to be despicable is that Laundrie didn't just refuse to cooperate with the police, he refused to talk to Gabby's parents for two weeks before the police ever got involved.
By any account, he left her stranded in a desert and drove her car back to their home, thousands of miles away.
I think the broad interest in this case is that it reads like a crime novel with so many strange turns which just keep coming. I didn’t take an interest until I read that the fiancé returned home without her and immediately lawyered up. It will no doubt be a movie someday.
Imagine what is said about Blacks, Hispanics and Asians.
What makes this girl so special that we initiate a global manhunt for her and her killer.
Why police act:
1. The victim is a cop or family member
2. Publicity
3. Possibility of getting some poontang
4. Possibility of $ (fines or forfeitures)
5. Possibility of kicking someone’s butt
6. The victim is famous
7. Politics
8. The cop has a grudge and can pin a crime on that person.
Don’t get me wrong. I figure it’s her. It’s just that I find it interesting that they are still not absolutely confirming it, which strongly suggests this body is in pretty bad shape.
I wish they would just find his body already so the story would end.
Amazing. Smaller scale version happened to one of mine and he DID spend a year in prison.

Why would any one even think suicide ? The van was parked a 100 feet from the body location .
He then drove her van 1500 miles back to FL AND HID IT and himself in his parents house.
Why are all these posters living in denial and defending a psycho who killed her then left her

This makes her incredibly news-worthy to the Mainstream Media, and, apparently, a lot of FReepers.
Yes, she wore Ruby slippers that Joe Biden and his fawning media gave her partway through her trip, so that all the negative attention that was starting to go his way was deflected and turned towards her.
The thing that bothers me the most with today’s zeitgeist is the complete ignorance and/or abandonment of principles like assumption of innocence, right to a fair trial, facing your accusers, right to remain silent, and so on. This stuff was drilled into me in the 8th grade, but it seems like it is no longer taught. They are taught that mob mentality rules. I am developing a real disdain for public schools and public school teachers. They are gleefully ushering in the end of our republic.
But we don’t even know the cause of death yet.
