One of the criticisms that are made about the Bible is how to account for the pyramids, whether or not they were built before or after the flood and why the Egyptian timeline doesn't match the Biblical one.
This has led many people to disregard the Bible. This author shows that the Jewish scholars, because they objected to the Christ being the Messiah, were willing to purposefully mess up the Torah timelines as a way to try and prove that Jesus is not the Christ.
This video corrects in an interesting, and I believe fairly convincing way.
Out of pure curiosity I have to ask...
Who here has taken more than an intro or 101 level of theology?
(General “Sunday school” type of Bible study doesn’t count)
If the revised timeline of the video is accepted then there is no problem resolving issue with the exodus and epyptian chronology either.
There is growing evidence and support for David Rohl’s revision of the the timing of the exodus and who the Pharoah was. The following is a long presentation but very compelling.
There is archaelogical evidence that there was a settlement of Caananite/non Egytian people in Goshen. Egyptologists don’t want to acknowledge that this settlement could have been the Israelites as it would force them to revise their theories. They reject it on the basis that the timeline does not match the timing of the exodus. Linguistic mix up led the the wrong Pharaoh being identified as the Pharaoh of the exodus, and this led to rejection of the Exodus as a historical event, due to the timeline not lining up.

See also the film “Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus” for more evidence the Exodus was a real event. Even if you are a sceptic, you would have to concede the sheer amount of times the Exodus is mentioned in scripture in the old testament does not fit with it being a fictitious event.
Thankyou for posting this.
The guy buries the lede with a lot of creationism. And random stuff about parental grieving.
But when you get past that, the core of the video is compelling. - the comparison between the (somewhat corrupted) Masoretic text vs the Septuagint and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
I have no idea if there were really 500-year old men, or men having children when they were 135 years old, like some Middle-Eastern version of the Numenorians. (Maybe, maybe not. I don’t know enough to judge).
But the video’s version of the timeline drawn from the Bible adheres to internal logic better than the previous one. Also: I’m glad of the illuminating insights drawn from St Stephen and St Paul.
The older is more advanced than the newer. Same in South America.
Sure looks like water erosion.
“He puts out some good stuff. I recommend watching the video “How long were the Israelites in Egypt?” first.
See also this resource with regards to questions about Genesis 5 and 11 genealogies.

Thank you both for posting. This has been a topic at the David Rohl’s New Chronology group lately and both NathanH83 & ABR’s (Associates for Biblical Research) videos have been posted.
Peter J. Williams of Tyndale House (Cambridge) also has some interesting information on the LXX vs. Masoretic text. I had never heard of the LAB text until I watched the ABR video. They do a good job.
Do y’all subscribe to “Bible and Spade”?
The Sphinx was.
I don’t think I’ve heard of bible and spade. I assume it’s a biblical archaeology publication?
Yes, where digging up an oil lamp of the “type Jesus might have used” proves the whole bible as fact word for word without question. lol
The Bible is a book of stories some real but most are just stories
Most are accounts of dreams and/or visions. Neither are real.
Theology 101 - not particularly relevant IMO. Did any of the Apostles of Jesus take such a course? Exactly!!
Credit granted for prior study, etc.

Is that a yea or nay?
Wrong. Scripture says God opened the "fountains of the deep".
Watching Xian company films to lend support to Xian ideology, resembles using the bible to substantiate the bible.
As I stated earlier, whether the pyramids and sphinx were erected “before or after the supposed time of the supposed flood”, is not of interest to me.
I, also, consider Ken Ham and his constructed fantasy a hoax..
(Ubiquitous....”As an “ultra” Orthodox Jew....) I believe the Jewish Bible as extant in Hebrew is the divine word of G-d, and unless learned in Hebrew you miss the point....(and OBTW there is no authoratative Septuagent beyond the Five Books of Moses. And I bet none of you can find the “error” (as if G-d made mistakes) in the first two words of the Bible in Hebrew...Gen 1:1...
That being said,
Secularists on Free Republic.... WTF? What do you teach your kids about morality? Do you get them Sam Harris videos?
Do you not realize that G-dless societies cannot survive? That the country as founded requires a G-d-fearing, civil society...not just “civil?” (Looking at you, Libertarians....)
indeed
Yes, it is put out by Associates for Biblical Research. They have been doing a dig in Shiloh for the past several seasons and it is very interesting.
OH?
