Ten hospitals around Southern California have had ICUs at or over capacity for 25 weeks or more. Three hospitals have had full ICUs for over a year.
During the earliest days of the pandemic, calls to "flatten the curve" flooded social media from all corners, as health officials and politicians asked everyone to stay home and avoid spreading COVID-19.
Those calls aimed to prevent more cases of the then-novel coronavirus, but beyond that, they aimed to keep hospital systems, healthcare workers and intensive care units from becoming overburdened with too many patients....
For some hospitals, ICUs began to slowly empty out in the spring and early summer, before the delta variant caused another spike in cases.
But for others, ICUs stayed full...
Here's a list of the 10 hospitals around Southern California that have spent an extended amount of time with full ICUs due to the COVID-19 pandemic...

Do ICUs generally have empty beds? Do hospitals in CA have enough money to have that additional space and staffing to have unused capacity just waiting for a surge? My gf, an ER nurse who has worked in five local hospitals, says the only time she has ever seen an ICU with empty beds was during extended heavy snow storms. At least in her hospitals, it is a question of who is most critical coming in, and who can be stabilized enough to get out of the ICU.
How much taxpayer money goes to hospitals that admit “suspected covid” patients?
Maybe if they leave them in the hospital long enough they will become real covid victims.
They have plenty of money.
If they have not built enough ICU capacity by now, that is negligence and malpractice.
I don’t know what to say about that. Either there are really a lot of people who need ICU care - in which case we should invest in expanding ICU care - or it’s some kind of fraud. I’d be interested to see some statistics on what % of ICU patients can walk out the door if the hospitals didn’t insist on wheeling them out.
ICU capacity is built around expected turnover of normal disease and trauma. Say 3-4 days to stabilize and move.
the pandemic messed that up because covid patients stay in ICU two, two and a half three weeks. which creates a bottleneck
So no matter how much capacity you have, if you can’t turn beds over, you’ve got a problem.
right now, my neck of SoCal is back to emergency surgeries only.
It's the pandemic of the vaccinated!
75-90% of the ICU patients are fully vaccinated!
How many illegals took Americans’ beds ?
Scamdemic. Leftists push abortions for American women while importing third world kids en masse. Democrats have done a lot of damage in just 8 months and 11 days. I watched a video of a midterm ad showing the terrifying reality of Biden’s America, and you can check it out in crawler link top of page at Whatfinger News. The left’s goal is ‘Amerika’, a clone of communist China. We need more low IQ reliable leftist voters like we need mystery shots several times per year. Oops!
If hospitals have had shortages of beds the last 18 months can someone explain all of the TikTok videos shot in hospitals with dancing nurses?
The people needing that help are ‘vaccinated’. A nurse said on video a few weeks ago that ‘delta variant’ is code for ‘vaccine injuries’. They are also the ‘super spreaders’ as the regular virus wasn’t cutting it. So many sheeple...I guess this will weed them out.
And just as with the ‘water shortage’ in California, if the illegal aliens weren’t there (10’s of millions of them) then it wouldn’t be a problem.
that’s not true, in fact the opposite. Not to mention SoCal gets a lot of ‘border visitors’
“in Orange County, Supervisor Katrina Foley said Monday that 90% of COVID-19 patients that have been hospitalized have been unvaccinated.”

“The average age for young unvaxxed or partially vaxxed patients is 51, younger than the average of fully vaxxed patients which is 66.”

last month in San Diego:
“Three or four weeks ago, I was getting about one ECMO referral a week, and now I’m getting probably between two and eight a day,” she said. “These are physicians who are calling from all over Southern California who are looking for help and have already reached capacity...Of the six with COVID-19 who are currently on ECMO at UCSD, all are unvaccinated.”

Empty beds, especially empty ICU beds, are money losers.
Not only dancing nurses, but videos of empty hospitals. The whole overwhelmed hospitals was a fraud.
They are heroes! Heroes dance!
The Big Lie!
if you’re in the ICU for covid, you’re not in there because of a positive pcr swab - you’re probably acting like a fish out of water, gasping for o2 and your body systems are going haywire
yes covid is the cause of ‘something’ - that something being 700K dead USA (460K on Biden’s watch), and 4 million dead worldwide.
If you have natural immunity, or are vaccinated, why are you scared of hospitalization numbers? Chances are you won’t be one.
We really cannot trust media reports these days. Their talking points and themes are copied from each other, invariably parroting the leftist line of the day. Giving us multiple links doesn’t increase the confidence level in these reports.
