Herbs are good.
They put Basil in the ratatouille????
I love me some basil.
My wife has 3 large, flowering and fragrant Basil plants in one of her horse watering troughs.
Then, we have one near to our char-coaling area. I cut the Basil and some near by rosemary and dampen them. When it is time to put the main course on the barbq, I toss half of the rosemary and basil on a side of the grill and close the cover.
When it is time to turn the main course on the grill, I turn it and throw what is left of the herbs to the other side to finish our dinner.
Well, you need to cover up with something when in public, when you are “without pants.”
Looks like lunch will be a pizza with basil pesto sauce.
Hmm interesting.
Will a basil drop or supplement do the same thing?
Is holy basil contain wholly different compounds?
I already had basil and pepperoni sandwiches scheduled for today’s meal. I don’t know if I’ll get any more out of my garden before cold weather finishes it off, but I do have a few containers of chopped basil in my freezer to get me through the winter.
First thing I thought of.
Snack: Toothpick. Cherry Tomato. Mozzarella ball (ciliegne). Basil. YUM!
Thanks for your post.
Hmmmm....
A little basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Garlic, roasted pine nuts and fresh parmesan..
Yep....I’m cured...
How do you prepare it for freezing?

Pesto is the besto.
I chop the leaves with a chopping knife. Put the chopped up leaves in a 1 quart container and pour some olive oil over them. Stir it all up well to get all the leaf surfaces coated with oil. Transfer the oil coated leaves into 1 cup plastic containers and press down to get most of the air out to save space. Put the 1 cup containers in the freezer. You can cut off as much as you want off a frozen chunk of leaves as needed.
If you don't coat them with oil before freezing, the leaves turn black. When you coat them with oil they stay green and don't oxidize and lose their flavor and nutritional content.
You’re welcome! Always trying to find ways to get good nutrients!
That’s close to how I’ve been doing it , except I used an ice cube tray, and popped out what I needed. I used a little too much oil, I’ll have to use less next time.
Thanks for posting - perfect solution...
