(CNN)London has more public sculptures of animals than it does of women or people of color, a new study has revealed.
Across London, 8% of public sculptures depict animals, while only 4% depict women, according to the study from the British charity Art UK, which was published on Thursday. People of color represent just 1% of the city's sculptures, with women of color accounting for 0.2%, it found....

Who built London? Men. Who made most if not all of those statues? Men. Nevertheless, I am not opposed to erecting a statue of Margaret Thatcher in every park and public square in the City.
Why would an island country with no history of colored settlement have statues of colored people?
Maybe someone should ask Putin why there are no statues of American Indians in Moscow? And Tokyo, how many Negro statues decorate Tokyo?
A study found that 98% of the statues in Lagos, Nigeria were people of color, and 2% were of animals. Exactly 0% were white males. This must be fixed immediately!
So what? Who makes the definitive, and arbitrary, law of what should be portrayed as a statue? Animals? How about cocolithophores? Why just men, women and animals? They left out amoebas, mushrooms, slime molds, and a plethora of other organisms that fail to qualify. Is that inclusive, indicative of “diversity?” What pure blather CNN publishes. Nonsense, pure unadulterated crap.
How many women and POCs fit the criteria?
The Brits never had a history of legalized Black slavery; so Blackness isn’t the same issue there that it has become here.
The Brits love animals. Nothing wrong with that.
But I do hope the statue of Peter Pan is still in Kensington Grardens...And I doubt they’ll be getting rid of the statue of Victoria, or Nelson’s Column, any time soon.
If somebody wants to raise funds and erect a statue of an accomplished Black Briton, I’m sure they can do that, and many venues would welcome it.

Animals are better companions, beloved by many more than those others mentioned.
