Early indications suggest the new Omicron variant may spread faster but is not as severe, with patients in South Africa only suffering mild illness.
This has led to speculation that it could replace Delta as the dominant strain and potentially provide those it infects with an immunity boost ahead of any more severe strains in the future.
During a press conference on Monday Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly was asked: ‘What’s your view of the idea that a mild version of Covid that spreads rapidly could contribute to immunity, top-up people’s ability to stave off maybe more severe versions of the virus?’
Professor Kelly replied: ‘I think this morning in my media interviews I said that would be my number one Christmas present. And it would be, if that was how it ended up.’
Giving hope that Australians will be able to enjoy Christmas without the threat of further restrictions, he said: ‘That would be certainly a very interesting change and a positive one.’...

Nick Coatsworth, a former federal deputy chief health officer, told Today the new variant could even displace the current dominant Delta variant.
“If this is milder than Delta, you actually want it to spread within your community,” he said.
“You want it to out compete Delta and become the pro-dominant circulating virus ... it could be that we want Omicron to spread around the world as quickly as possible.”...
The comment comes after Chair of the South African Medical Association, Dr Angelique Coetzee, said most patients she’s seen are presenting will non-severe, asymptotic illness...

I have been thinking the same thing. I pray that God intervened and provided an actually effective vaccine. If the R0 numbers I have seen are accurate this thing spreads orders of magnitude faster than the other Covid variants, and if it is mild as has been claimed it is God’s hand.
There probably is some Providence when it comes to viruses. Ebola is so deadly, that most people die quickly before they can get too far and spread it. (Of course in the jet age...)
But yes, what a miracle if this latest version is very infectious but has few serious effects. Which is how all of these things work... After some point.

Why would you name a new version of covid after a low budget Italian movie from 1963 where an alien takes over the body of an Earthman in order to learn about the planet so his race can take it over.
I call BS....
However, once these “morons” pushing the jab are convinced that the vast majority of the public no longer trusts the CDC, hospitals, or even many doctors for that matter, They will release the real viruses... the ones that kill off 30-60% of people instead of just 1%... like Smallpox which they have already found vials of where they don’t belong.

Or, are they simply executing phases of a more complicated strategy that we fail to recognize?
If we were not prepared for a biological attack before, we are CERTAINLY not ready for one now. Not only is the trust in our medical industry destroyed, but our own immune systems are decimated as well. (at least in those jabbed) Even our military self administered the enemy’s bio weapon!

At this point, even if the CDC and our medical industry COULD respond to an attack, nobody would trust them to do so now.
We are not just losing this war... with over 50-60% of our population “immunized”, we have already lost it.
All the MORONS have to do now is wait.
At some point, I suspect we will be INVITING Chinese soldiers to occupy our nation because our own military will be on blood thinners and ventilators.

Don’t tell anyone, but I just came down with the “Wolf” variant. It has no symptoms, moves very fast - very contagious and gives the same immunity as the vaccines. I’m quarantining myself until it is over. I think that person in the big truck roaming the neighbourhood picked up my mask along with the other stuff in the brown wheeled container that I put out by the street.
