Now, she says this in the face of numerous videos and reports of smash and grabs in Democratic cities across the country, in particular a spurt of such criminal actions in California. So, it’s fantasy to deny them.
Republican lawmakers and retailers blasted AOC for denying the obvious.

Not that AOC isn’t bats, but there is a difference between the arguments that widespread theft is causing the closing of certain specific stores, and whether mass smash-and-grab shoplifting is occurring. It’s not clear at all from that blurb which thing she’s wrong about.

Probably not. I think criminals/vagrants have discovered that Thurston County in general, and Olympia in particular are easy on crime and have targeted the area. When criminals are caught, many are found in Tacoma.
Last week, 25 cars were stolen in the county; 500+ for the year. Not to mention dozens of cat. conveters. Also last week, a Macy’s had a group go in, smash and grab and leave in 2 cars. About the same time, pot shop had a guy go in, brandish a knife, and take all the cash + some pot. Sometimes these lootings seem orhcestrated as many happen within minutes of one another.
The cops are trying, within the limits if the new “don’t chase” laws, but seem overwhelmed at times in my opinion.
Leftists are incapable of accepting reality when it goes against their brainwashed narrative. It’s a true and real mental illness. A very serious and debilitating mental illness.
Being a leftist should preclude someone from being in any position of responsibility.
