In yet another blow to human rights Australian Hayley Hodgson, 26, was very strangely picked up by uniformed police in what she called ‘a casino bus’ and taken to a ‘Covid Internment Camp’.
Hayley moved to Darwin from Melbourne to escape the never-ending lockdowns, — only to find herself locked up in a Covid Internment Camp without even having the virus.
Speaking to UnHerd’s Freddie Sayers, she said she had just returned from 14-day detention at Howard Springs, the government’s 2000-capacity Covid camp.
It all began when a friend of hers tested positive. She recounts how investigators came to her home shortly afterwards, having run the number plate on her scooter to identify her as a ‘close contact’. They asked if she had done a Covid test, and at the moment she lied and said she had when she in fact had not yet. This set in train an extraordinary series of events.
“We’ve just been told from higher up”
“So then the police officers blocked my driveway,” she says. “I walked out and I said, “what’s going on, are you guys testing me for COVID? What’s happening?” They said, “no, you’re getting taken away. And you have no choice. You’re going to Howard Springs. You either come with us now, and we’ll put you in the back of the divvy van. Or you can have a choice to get a ‘COVID cab’…
I just said, “I don’t consent to this. I don’t understand why I can’t just self-isolate at home, like a lot of other people are doing.” And they just said, “we’ve just been told from higher up where to take you. And that’s all that there is.”

To the camps they go with I assume a yellow letter “U” for unvaccinated sewn on their coats where they will be called “U-den” for short. I bet the Marxists here in the USA are foaming at the mouth to do this.

The core story is certainly true.
Some of her interpretation of what was going on is less so. Charitably, it can be assumed she doesn’t properly understand a lot of it.
That doesn’t make a huge difference to her story but I am worried some people may latch onto some of those inaccuracies.
No matter your Australian apologetics, totalitarianism is still totalitarianism no matter where it exists.

Naturalman is a lost cause. He lives in La La Land, not Australia as it has become. Totally myopic. Thinks he is somehow standing up for his country’s honor in spite of the fact that it is now a fascist authoritarian state. Sad really.

I'm beginning to think a lot of people here just can't handle any sort of complexity. Everything had to be boiled down to an oversimplification, often inaccurate, or they can't cope. And if anybody tries to explain that it isn't that simple, they literally feel a need to shoot the messenger.
Do you often form your opinions before you've bothered to even try to get all the facts?
Your reading of what I've written is, to say the least, severely flawed. Maybe you're not actually a liar - and I apologise for that knee jerk reaction in your case and acknowledged I could have and should have read on to find you further comment, but I'm getting more than a little sick of seeing what I'm doing misrepresented.
There are very real problems in Australia right now. I'm trying to get those real problems focused on - not the exaggerations and misinformation.
Saying that some of what is being shared here is inaccurate information, that I do believe can be called propaganda is not the same as saying it all is. This story is basically true. Lots of others haven't been.
I guess the crux of her ‘misunderstanding’ is in her being threatened with a $5000 fine and then being told by the ACDC that she was likely interned there, despite three negative Covid tests, was because she lied and then admitted to it before being Covid-taxied off to camp? That kind of misunderstanding?
Naturalman offers invaluable insights on not only Australia but the whole of the commonwealth. One can learn a good deal from people who do not merely reflect one’s own views and experiences.
I’d hope at least one of you would be good enough to eat some humble pie.
My own guess is that a part of what you are guessing is the misunderstanding—which may further involve a misrepresentation by an official in an attempt to gain a desired response.
By asking Naturalman nicely one can learn things. Which is why I pinged him to this thread—not to have him showered with abuse.
